Arsenal are reportedly planning to make a move to sign Newcastle United defender Lewis Hall, as per Spanish outlet Fichajes.

Following two disappointing defeats against Manchester City and Southampton in the Carabao Cup final and FA Cup quarter-final, respectively, the Gunners have returned to winning ways by defeating Sporting CP in the Champions League quarter-final first leg.

Mikel Arteta’s side displayed an average performance vs the Lions in midweek, still they managed to win the game 1-0 courtesy of Kai Havertz’s late winner. David Raya even won the Man of the Match award.

Although the North London club are in an advantageous position to reach the semi-final stage of Europe’s elite club competition and are the favourite to win the Premier League title this season, they need to improve their potency in attack to become European or English champions.

Meanwhile, it appears Arsenal have already started exploring options to add more firepower this summer to continue challenging on all fronts next campaign.

Fichajes state that despite already having Piero Hincapié, Riccardo Calafiori, and Myles Lewis-Skelly as options to deploy in the left-back position, Arsenal are considering adding more depth to this position.

Arteta’s side have earmarked Hall as a serious option, having been impressed by his performances this season. However, purchasing the Englishman won’t be straightforward, as Chelsea and Manchester City are in this race as well.

Hall to Arsenal

The Blues have identified Hall as a potential replacement for Marc Cucurella, who has been attracting attention from numerous European teams.

With Hall’s existing deal set to run until 2029, Newcastle are in a strong position to demand a big fee if they are forced to cash-in on him this summer and have no intention of accepting anything less than £70m.

Hall came through the West London club’s youth system before joining the Magpies in 2024. He is a technically gifted left-footed left-back and has shown glimpses of his qualities at the highest level this season.

In 41 appearances across all competitions, the Englishman has made three goal contributions and kept four clean sheets.

The 21-year-old is a talented player and could be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal should they eventually manage to secure his service by defeating other clubs in this race.
