Arsenal plotting audacious swoop to sign PSG star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia
Arsenal are plotting an audacious swoop to sign Paris Saint-Germain winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, according to Fichajes.
Kvaratskhelia, valued at £78m by Transfermarkt, has been one of the best wingers in the world in recent seasons, not just for his flair or goal output, but also for his consistent performance since his move to Napoli in 2022.
One thing that has been synonymous with the 25-year-old is trophy successes in the respective clubs he plays for that can be dated back to his first title in 2019, where he won the Russian Cup with Lokomotiv Moscow before taking the Serie A by storm with the best individual performance to guide the Partenopei to two Italian titles.
However, it was in France that he earned the most trophies, winning a historic quadruple last season, including the UEFA Champions League, Ligue 1, Coupe de France, and Trophée des Champions.
Such a level of trophy-laden top-flight success, along with a prolific goal-scoring and chance-creation ability, makes him a suitable fit for any ambitious top-flight team, and it’s no surprise Arsenal are now vying for him.
According to Fichajes, Arsenal are plotting an audacious swoop for the possible transfer of Kvaratskhelia to the Emirates Stadium, having made him their ‘top target’ for next summer.
The report adds that the Gunners are looking to create a ‘dream’ attack with the Georgian winger, whose qualities complement Viktor Gyökeres in the centre-forward position and Bukayo Saka on the left, making them a dynamic trio, especially when facing low blocks.
Audacious swoop
After years of building steadily, the North London club believes it’s time to take the next step, which includes signing superstars, and Kvaratskhelia has now been earmarked as the ideal profile for that role, Fichajes adds.
While a deal could prove difficult, the Spanish outlet reports that the left winger could consider a departure due to his struggles this season, during which he’s scored only 4 league goals, with Arsenal now keen.
Although Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, and Noni Madueke give Arteta depth, neither forward carries the threat and top-flight experience Kvaratskhelia has.
The Georgian international has showcased his abilities on the grandest European stages, and his versatility could add dynamism to Arteta’s system.
Having enjoyed a trophy-laden career so far, his top-flight experience is exactly what the Gunners’ dressing room needs to continue their challenge for major domestic and European titles.
