Expected Arsenal line-up vs Brighton & Hove Albion
Arsenal are set to travel to the AMEX Stadium to face Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League tonight.
Following a disappointing 2-2 draw against bottom-side Wolverhampton Wanderers, the Gunners have regained confidence with back-to-back league wins over city rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea.
Currently, the North London club are top of the table with 64 points from 29 matches, while Manchester City are second, five points behind with a game in hand.
On the other hand, Brighton are in mid-table with 37 points from 28 matches and haven’t defeated the Gunners at home since 2020. They even lost the reverse fixture 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium back in December.
However, they are currently full of confidence after winning the last two league games against Nottingham Forest and Brentford.
Team news
Mikel Merino and Ben White remain sidelined due to their respective injury problems. Declan Rice picked up an issue vs Chelsea last weekend, but Mikel Arteta has hinted that the Englishman should be fit enough to be involved tonight.
Martin Odegaard has continued to struggle with fitness problems this season and is in doubt for this fixture, but Kai Havertz should be ready to feature.
Predicted line-up
David Raya should continue between the sticks, while William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes are set to be the centre-back partnership for Arsenal. Jurrien Timber is expected to be the right-back, and Piero Hincapié would be on the opposite side.
Therefore, Cristhian Mosquera, Riccardo Calafiori, and Myles Lewis-Skelly should feature as substitutes if needed.
Martin Zubimendi is likely to be the deep-lying playmaker, and Christian Norgaard might commence alongside the Spaniard if Rice can’t recover in time. Eberechi Eze might continue as the creative midfielder.
Bukayo Saka would be on the right flank, and Leandro Trossard should be on the left for the Gunners. So, Noni Madueke and Gabriel Martinelli would have to make do with a place on the bench.
Viktor Gyokeres is expected to lead the line for Arsenal; in that case, Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz may feature as substitutes if needed.
Expected Arsenal line-up vs Brighton
Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Hincapié; Zubimendi, Norgaard, Eze; Saka, Gyokeres, Trossard
