Predicted Arsenal line-up against Nottingham Forest
Arsenal are set to travel to the City Ground to face off against relegation-threatened Nottingham Forest in the Premier League this evening.
The Gunners are currently at the top of the table with a six-point lead and will be coming into this game off the back of a confidence-boosting 3-2 victory over Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg.
Team news
Riccardo Calafiori and Cristhian Mosquera have been out injured over the last few weeks, while Piero Hincapié hasn’t been able to feature in recent matches since sustaining an issue vs Liverpool earlier this month.
However, Mikel Arteta has hinted ahead of this game that at least one of those three players could be able to return for this crucial fixture.
Predicted line-up
Arteta went with a strong line-up in midweek and is unlikely to make many changes today; however, David Raya is set to return in goal, so Kepa Arrizabalaga would have to make do with a place on the bench.
William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes are likely to be the centre-back pairing, while Ben White may continue in the right-back position. Jurrien Timber might be on the opposite side for the visitors if Hincapié or Calafiori can’t recover. Meaning, Myles Lewis-Skelly would be among the substitutes.
Arteta is highly unlikely to make any changes to the engine room, so Martin Zubimendi would be the deep-lying playmaker, while Declan Rice is set to be in the box-to-box role. Martin Odegaard is expected to be the creative midfielder.
In that case, Mikel Merino and Eberechi Eze could feature off the bench, while Christian Norgaard and Ethan Nwaneri would have to settle for a place on the bench.
Bukayo Saka might keep hold of his place on the right flank, and Leandro Trossard could be on the left for the North London club. So, Noni Madueke and Gabriel Martinelli should get involved as substitutes.
Viktor Gyokeres is expected to be the centre-forward after putting his name on the scoresheet last time out. So, Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz would be among the substitutes.
Expected Arsenal line-up vs Nottingham Forest:
Raya, White, Saliba, Gabriel, Timber, Zubimendi, Rice, Odegaard; Saka, Gyokeres, Trossard
