Arsenal making contact on ‘regular basis’ to sign Arda Guler
Arsenal are reportedly making contact on a ‘regular basis’ to sign Real Madrid star Arda Guler, as per TEAMtalk.
The Gunners splashed big money last summer to reinforce the squad in order to challenge on all fronts this term. They are currently the favourites to win the Premier League title and are at the top of the Champions League table.
Moreover, they have reached the semi-final of the Carabao Cup and are set to face Chelsea in the first leg on Wednesday. Mikel Arteta’s side have even secured their place in the FA Cup fourth round after defeating Portsmouth last weekend and will play Wigan Athletic. Therefore, the North London club are on course to achieve their objectives.
Meanwhile, with the winter transfer window in full flow, the rumour mill has been linking numerous players with a move to the Emirates Stadium in recent times.
Now, TEAMtalk claim that Arsenal are keen on strengthening the creative midfield position despite already having Eberechi Eze, Ethan Nwaneri and Martin Odegaard and have identified Guler as a serious target.
Arsenal have been in talks with the player’s representatives on a ‘regular basis’ to learn about the details of signing him. Apart from the Gunners, Chelsea and Liverpool are also in this race, while Bayern Munich are also keen on.
However, the 20-year-old has no intention of leaving the Spanish giants just yet, and Real Madrid are planning to hand him a fresh term, even though his current contract is set to run until 2029.
Guler to Arsenal
Guler is a left-footed creative midfielder by trait, like Martin Odegaard, but is also comfortable on the right flank. Having proven his worth in club football, the youngster has already secured his place in the Turkish national team’s starting line-up.
He was an internal part of Los Blancos’ starting line-up earlier this season, but since Jude Bellingham’s return from injury, Guler has lost his importance.
The Real Madrid star, valued at around £78m by Transfermarkt, is a highly talented player and possesses the potential to become a world-class midfielder in the future.
So, he would be a great coup for Arsenal should they eventually manage to secure his service in January or next summer.
