Arsenal face strong competition for Hertha Berlin starlet
Arsenal are reportedly set to compete with Manchester United and several leading European clubs for the signing of Hertha Berlin’s teenage midfielder Kennet Eichhorn.
Reports from TeamTalk suggest that the 16-year-old has caught the attention of top scouts across Europe after his impressive displays in Germany.
Eichhorn, who stands at 6ft 1in, has been one of Hertha Berlin’s brightest prospects this season.
Despite his young age, he has already made 11 appearances for the club and shown maturity beyond his years.
His ability to read the game, combined with strong defensive awareness and composure in possession, has made him one of the most sought-after midfielders in his age group.
Arsenal have maintained a long-standing policy of identifying and developing young talents across Europe.
The club’s recruitment team is said to be keeping close tabs on Eichhorn as they consider making a move in the January transfer window.
They view him as a player who could strengthen the squad’s depth and offer long-term value to the club.
European giants also in the race
However, as per the report, the Gunners are not alone in their pursuit. Manchester United are also monitoring the teenager’s progress closely, while Bundesliga heavyweights Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig are believed to be leading the chase due to their strong domestic links.
Both clubs are confident that staying within Germany could be a key factor in convincing the youngster to join them.
In England, Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton and Hove Albion have also shown interest in the midfielder, according to TeamTalk.
Meanwhile, Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid are keeping an eye on his situation as they continue to track Europe’s best emerging players. Elsewhere, Borussia Dortmund, Eintracht Frankfurt, Bayer Leverkusen and Paris Saint-Germain have joined the list of admirers.
Each of these clubs is keen on adding Eichhorn to their youth or senior development pathway.
Reports via TeamTalk indicate that Hertha Berlin value Eichhorn at around £10 million, although the final price could vary depending on which league he decides to move to.
With several elite clubs now involved, a bidding contest could emerge in the coming months.
If Arsenal choose to move ahead with their interest, they will need to act quickly to avoid losing ground to their rivals.
For now, Eichhorn’s rapid rise continues to draw attention from across Europe, marking him as one of the most exciting young prospects in the game.
