Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior, as per transfer journalist Graeme Bailey.

Since moving to the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu from Brazilian side Flamengo back in 2018, the 25-year-old has established himself as a talismanic figure.

He has enjoyed great success at the Spanish capital over the years, winning three La Liga titles, two Champions League trophies, and numerous other major cup competitions.

However, on TBR Football, Bailey says that the Brazilian’s future is uncertain at Real Madrid at the moment. His current deal with Xabi Alonso’s side will expire in 2027, and they were open to handing him a fresh long-term contract.

However, the forward wants a salary package close to Kylian Mbappe’s, which is around €30m-a-year, but Real Madrid don’t want to match that. So, an agreement hasn’t been reached yet, and they are open to cashing-in on him next summer if the situation remains the same.

Arsenal are interested in him and have been made aware of the South American’s current situation. They could make a move to sign him next year by taking advantage of his current situation. The player believes Alonso doesn’t see him as an undisputed starter, so he might be open to leaving and is prepared to move to the Premier League.

However, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester City are also plotting a swoop for him, while the Blues and the Citizens held talks to learn about the details of signing him this summer. Therefore, Arsenal will have to overcome several obstacles to seal the deal.

Arsenal were heavily linked with a move for Rodrygo Goes this summer. The forward’s future is also uncertain at Real Madrid as he has been struggling to find regular game time. However, the player eventually opted to stay, and Alonso has been using him as a rotational option.

Vinicius, valued at around £148m by Transfermarkt, likes to be deployed on the left flank but is also comfortable in the CF position if needed. He is considered one of the best players in the world; therefore, he would be a great coup for Arsenal should they purchase him.
