Arsenal set to complete summer signing of Christian Nørgaard
Arsenal are on the verge of sealing their third signing of the summer window as Christian Nørgaard edges closer to joining the squad.
The Danish international was spotted arriving at the clubs London Colney training ground on Tuesday where he was met by sporting director Andrea Berta. The deal is expected to be announced very soon.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, all documents have been signed between both clubs. The player has also completed his medical checks.
Nørgaard’s arrival will boost Arsenal’s midfield options, especially after the exits of Jorginho and Thomas Partey earlier in the window.
He is set to join Martin Zubimendi, who was recently confirmed as a new addition, as part of Mikel Arteta’s rebuild in the centre of the pitch.
The Gunners have prioritised strengthening the midfield as they aim to challenge again on all fronts in the new campaign.
Premier League experience a big plus
Nørgaard brings plenty of experience in the Premier League. He has played 122 matches in the top flight since arriving in England.
During that time, he has scored 11 goals and provided 13 assists. His ability to influence games from midfield makes him a valuable addition.
Standing at 6ft 1in, the Denmark international is also strong in the air. His physical presence will be useful at both ends of the pitch.
Arsenal have become known for creating chances from corners and set-pieces. Nørgaard’s height and timing could improve those numbers even further.
The 30-year-old is also recognised for his leadership qualities. He often captained his former side and will bring calmness and maturity to the Arsenal squad.
Deal structure and fee details
The Gunners are expected to pay a guaranteed £10 million for Nørgaard. The agreement also includes an extra £2 million in performance-related add-ons.
Nørgaard’s move has been welcomed by the club’s fans, who are hoping his arrival will bring more control and balance to the midfield.
He is widely expected to fight for a starting role in Mikel Arteta’s plans once the new season kicks off.
His unveiling is now only a matter of time, with Arsenal set to confirm their third signing in what has been a busy summer so far.
