Arsenal eye Chelsea’s Noni Madueke amid doubts
Arsenal are reportedly monitoring Chelsea winger Noni Madueke as they continue their search for attacking reinforcements this summer, according to reports from The Telegraph.
The Gunners have yet to confirm any new signing during the current transfer window.
However, the club has been linked with several players across Europe, especially in wide attacking roles.
They were strongly interested in Athletic Club star Nico Williams, but that move now looks unlikely.
The Spanish international is expected to join Barcelona instead.
With that deal almost off the table, Arsenal have decided to look elsewhere with Madueke emerging as a serious target.
As per the Telegraph, Arsenal are now keeping a close eye on developments at Stamford Bridge concerning Madueke’s future.
Madueke’s Chelsea future remains unclear
Noni Madueke joined Chelsea from Dutch club PSV Eindhoven in January 2023.
Since then, his time at the club has been filled with ups and downs.
He has not always been a regular starter, but he managed to end last season on a high.
The England international scored 11 goals in all competitions as Chelsea lifted the UEFA Conference League.
Despite that return, his long-term future at Stamford Bridge remains uncertain. According to The Telegraph, Chelsea do not see the 23-year-old as untouchable.
That situation has attracted interest from several clubs, including Arsenal. Reports suggest the Gunners are tracking Madueke, although they have not made any formal approach yet.
Interest growing in versatile winger
Arsenal are not alone in their interest. Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are also said to be watching the winger closely.
All three clubs are looking to add depth in wide areas ahead of the new season. Madueke’s ability to play on either wing makes him an appealing option for teams looking for flexibility in attack.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is keen to add more quality to his forward line. With the Gunners in the Champions League, strengthening the squad is a top priority.
No move has been made at this stage, but Madueke’s situation is one to watch as the summer window progresses. He’s valued at around £34m by Transfermarkt, so Madueke could be a cost-effective solution for Arsenal if they do make a formal swoop.
