Arsenal interested in signing Leverkusen star Patrik Schick

By on May 8, 2025

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen star Patrik Schick, as per Caught Offside.

The German side have enjoyed a stellar time under Xabi Alonso’s guidance in recent years, and several players have received praise for that, with Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, and Alejandro Grimaldo being among them.

However, the Czechia international’s importance has gone under the radar a bit. Leverkusen won several games from behind last season, which eventually helped them end the league campaign undefeated, and Schick netted stoppage-time goals on several occasions.

The 29-year-old didn’t get the start regularly last term, and the story remains the same this season, still, he has managed to score 25 goals in all competitions.

Now, Caught Offside claim that several Leverkusen stars are set to leave this summer to take the next step in their career, including Alonso, who has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid.

Schick could also be on the move, and Leverkusen are open to cashing-in on him for a fee of at least £25m, with his current contract set to run until 2027.

Schick to Arsenal

Arsenal are in the market for a new striker this summer and have registered their interest in signing Schick, having been impressed by his recent eye-catching displays. They have been keeping a close eye on his situation before making a potential swoop.

However, the North London club aren’t the only club interested in him as Manchester United and Chelsea are also plotting a move for him to bolster the frontline.

The 29-year-old, standing at 6ft 3in tall, can link up the play, is good in the air, and is clinical in front of the goal. However, he hasn’t been able to showcase consistency over the years, and it would be a risky move for Arsenal to sign him to win big silverware.

Therefore, Mikel Arteta’s side might be better off exploring more proven options. Nevertheless, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually make a concrete approach to secure his service in the upcoming transfer window.

Meanwhile, after losing to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League semi-final, Arsenal are set to end the season trophyless once again.
