Arsenal to make creative offer to sign Bruno Guimaraes
Arsenal are reportedly planning to submit a player-plus-cash offer to sign Newcastle United star Bruno Guimaraes this summer, as per Football Transfers.
The Gunners’ desire to sign a new midfielder in this transfer window is already well-known, however, the unknown thing is who will be the new signing.
They have been linked with a plethora of names over the last few weeks with Bruno Guimaraes being among them, but it was starting to emerge that Martin Zubimendi was their primary option.
However, Football Transfers states that Arsenal submitted a contract proposal to the Real Sociedad star to persuade him to join the club but after getting no response from him, Mikel Arteta’s side have now decided to look for alternative options and have now identified Guimaraes as the priority target.
The report further claims that the Newcastle United star has a £100m release clause in his current contract but Arsenal have no intention of triggering the clause and are hoping to get the deal done for a lower fee.
Guimaraes to Arsenal
Football Transfers also reports that Arsenal are planning to offer a player-plus-cash offer to persuade the Magpies to let their star man leave. Eddie Nketiah, Emile Smith Rowe, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Thomas Partey and Oleksandr Zinchenko are on Arsenal’s transfer list and they could be valuable additions to Newcastle’s squad so any of them could be included in this deal.
Newcastle are reportedly at risk of breaching Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules so they need to balance the books by selling one of their stars. Therefore, Arsenal could manage to get this deal done this summer.
However, Manchester City are also plotting a swoop to sign him so the North London club are set to face tough competition from the Citizens in getting any potential deal done for him.
Guimaraes has showcased his qualities in the Premier League over the last few years so he would be a great coup for Arsenal if they purchase him.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the Emirates club can eventually manage to secure his signature in this transfer window to reinforce their midfield department.
