Arsenal take on Liverpool in a titanic clash at Anfield on Saturday evening. This is the line-up I’d like to see Mikel Arteta select for the match…

Aaron Ramsdale has firmly established himself as Arsenal’s number one so he’ll continue in goal and I hope we see Arteta revert back to our best defence in front of him.

Kieran Tierney is fit again after making his return from injury with Scotland during the international break. Nuno Tavares filled-in well during Tierney’s absence but I’d give the former Celtic star an immediate recall tomorrow.

The rest of the back four should stay the same with Takehiro Tomiyasu starting once again at right-back while Ben White will continue his impressive partnership with Gabriel at the heart of defence against Liverpool this weekend.

Arsenal should have a welcome boost in midfield as Thomas Partey is tipped to return from a groin injury that kept him out of the win over Watford two weeks ago. The Ghana international has trained this week and should be fit to start against Liverpool.

Albert Sambi Lokonga should keep his place with Granit Xhaka still on the sidelines with a knee injury so Ainsley Maitland-Niles will be the man to make way for Partey.

Odegaard in

Alexandre Lacazette has done well in the No.10 role in recent games but I hope Arteta recalls Martin Odegaard. The Norwegian will give us a little bit more defensive solidity in the middle of the park as he can drop deeper to match up against Liverpool’s three-man midfield if needed.

Thankfully, it looks like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is going to be fit as he’s trained after returning home early from duty with Gabon due to a knock. Auba should lead the line up front for Arsenal against Liverpool.

Bukayo Saka should obviously keep his place on the right flank while Emile Smith Rowe continued his excellent form after scoring and assisting on his England debut earlier this week so he keeps his place on the left.

Gabriel Martinelli and Nicolas Pepe will have to settle for places on the Arsenal bench alongside Lacazette.

Here is the side I hope we see:
