Aaron Ramsey’s exploits may drive Wales into the knockouts stages of Euro 2020, but a busy summer won’t end there amid rumours Arsenal are touted to re-sign their former star.

The Welshman spent 11 years at the Emirates Stadium before departing for Juventus in 2019, but injuries have restricted his impact in Turin and led to rumours of a Premier League return.

Arsenal Station recently broke down reports that Arsenal have seen a £12.9 million bid for Anderlecht’s 21-year-old midfield star Albert Sambi Lokonga rejected.

Ramsey, 30, falls at the other end of the spectrum in regards to age and experience, but there’s a lot to like about the reunion for both parties.

That being said, Liverpool are the 3/1 favourites to be Ramsey’s next club should he leave Juve, closely followed by Arsenal at 5/1, with Premier League peers Everton next at 6/1 odds.

Part of the conundrum in convincing the player to leave will be his wages. The BBC reported at the time of his Arsenal exit that Ramsey would rake in an eye-watering £400,000 a week with his new Italian employers, who weren’t burdened with having to pay a transfer fee for the player.

Ramsey was one of Wales’ heroes when he scored the opening goal in their 2-0 victory over Turkey at Euro 2020, which all but confirmed the Dragons will advance in the tournament.

Mikel Arteta could soon find himself in need of midfield reinforcements as reports suggest Granit Xhaka is on the verge of joining Jose Mourinho at Roma.

Ramsey, meanwhile, will be eager to find consistent minutes ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, although Wales’ place in next year’s competition is far from secure.

Rob Page’s side are currently third in their group behind Belgium and the Czech Republic, still significant underdogs in 2022 World Cup betting stakes to clinch their spot in the finals –  good opportunity for British bettors to find extra value with World Cup free bets.

Still, a return to the familiar sights of north London could appeal to Ramsey, who has scored six goals and recorded as many assists in 65 appearances for Juventus during his first two seasons. The veteran scored as many times in only 40 outings during his last campaign with Arsenal, though Arteta may not be as convinced of his talents as Arsene Wenger once was.

Also among the candidates to sign Ramsey are West Ham (9/1), Manchester United (12/1) and boyhood club Cardiff City (16/1), who once resigned the playmaker on loan early on in his Gunners career.

Bookmakers are offering odds on a wide variety of players who will be on the move this summer, and many informed football fans will feel their money is better spent on these markets than in the casino.

Ramsey seems like one of the more profitable selections to potentially move this summer, and Arsenal’s price to regain the talents of their former puppeteer make him a particularly appealing pick.
