Arsenal Training Session

Denis Suarez has enjoyed his first training session at London Colney after completing an initial loan move to Arsenal from Barcelona.

The Spaniard has been linked with a move to the Emirates this month and we finally reached a breakthrough in negotiations earlier this week after Suarez agreed to sign a one-year contract extension with Barcelona.

That protected his future value and paved the way for the Catalans to agree a six-month loan deal with Arsenal which includes the option to make the transfer permanent at the end of the season.

Suarez flew-in to London to undergo his medical and finalise terms on Wednesday and Barcelona jumped the gun by announcing Suarez’s move to Arsenal yesterday afternoon.

The announcement was quickly deleted from their website but thankfully there wasn’t any late hiccup, it was just a delay in the paperwork being completed, and we finally confirmed on Arsenal.com earlier that Suarez has finalised his loan move to Arsenal.

The 25-year-old links up with Unai Emery again after working with him at Sevilla and the attacking midfielder told Arsenal.com that he’s keen to follow in the foot steps of Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp.

“One thing no one knows about me is that when I was little and I used to watch the Premier League on the TV, Arsenal were a team that really inspired me,”

“I used to watch Bergkamp and Henry – they’re both legends of the club and hopefully we can follow in their footsteps.”

Suarez will wear the No.22 shirt and he’s now been taking part in his first training session at London Colney. It looks like he just did some light work in the gym and individual outdoor training with the coaches so it remains to be seen whether he’ll be in the squad to face Man City on Sunday.
