Player agrees personal terms with Arsenal ahead of possible £13.5m move [Marca]

By on January 11, 2019

According to Marca, Denis Suarez has agreed terms with Arsenal over a move to the Emirates this month as we continue to try and thrash out a deal with Barcelona.

Unai Emery admitted last week that the club are working to strengthen this squad during the January window and a new attacking midfielder is on the agenda as Danny Welbeck has been ruled out for the rest of the season while Henrikh Mkhitaryan is also on the sidelines with a fractured foot.

Aaron Ramsey is also set to leave when his contract expires while the future of Mesut Ozil is in serious doubt so the club need to add to our squad and Suarez has emerged as a prime target in recent weeks.

The 25-year-old has struggled to establish himself under boss Ernesto Valverde this season after playing just 8 minutes of La Liga football so understandably he’s keen to find a fresh start.

He can play both as a central midfielder or on the wing so he’d be a very useful signing and Sport claimed earlier this week that Emery had convinced Suarez to snub other clubs to join Arsenal this month.

Now, Marca claim Suarez has agreed personal terms with Arsenal over the move and has expressed his desire to leave to the Barcelona hierarchy but we’re still trying to thrash out an agreement with the Catalans.

The Spanish newspaper says Arsenal want to sign Suarez on an initial loan with the option to buy in the summer but Barca want to sell now and value the midfielder at around £10m-£13.5m.

Marca says Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu has now got involved in the talks and promised Suarez he can leave this month but they need money now to strengthen their squad following his departure. The outlet says the most likely outcome is we agree a loan with a compulsory option to make the transfer permanent at the end of the season.

That seems the most sensible solution as Barca would be stupid to let Suarez leave on a basic loan this month. His contract has just 18 months left to run so if things didn’t work out at Arsenal and he returned to the Nou Camp in the summer, his value would have dropped and they’d receive less money than they would if they sold now.

frankly speaking i don’t think this arsenal is serious at all.You are bringing conditions that you are not signing permanently but a player for a loan. when the big four clubs in front u are ready to sign more players in this January.
