Video: Arsenal 4-2 Tottenham: Aubameyang scores twice as Gunners batter Spurs
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored twice as Arsenal won a thrilling North London Derby 4-2 at the Emirates Stadium this afternoon to go fourth in the table.
It was a superb start by us and our dominance was awarded when Mike Dean gave us a penalty [!] after Jan Vertonghen handled Granit Xhaka’s 10th minute free-kick in the area. Aubameyang made no mistake to make it 1-0 in the 10th minute.
We should have been out of sight inside the opening 20 minutes but we were made to rue our missed chances when poor goalkeeping from Bernd Leno let an Eric Dier header in to the net for 1-1 in the 30th minute.
There was huge controversy just minutes later when Hueng-min Son took a dive in the area. Rob Holding went to ground but there didn’t appear to be any contact on Son but Mike Dean didn’t hesitate to award Spurs the penalty. Kane made it 2-1 and Tottenham were extremely fortunate to be leading at the break.
Emery switched things up at half-time with Alexandre Lacazette and Aaron Ramsey coming on and the changes worked as Rambo set-up Aubameyang for the Gabon international to curl home a superb strike from the edge of the area for 2-2.
Lacazette then put Arsenal ahead once again as his deflected strike from the edge of the area found it’s way in to the bottom corner before Torreira made it 4-2 with a fine finish in the 77th minute.
Vertonghen was sent off late on as we eased to a 4-2 win and while the score-line suggests it was close, we were by far the better team and battered them for the majority of the match.
Here are all the goals from a pulsating game:
