[Photos] Arsenal handed triple fitness boost as trio train ahead of Tottenham trip
Arsenal have been handed a huge triple injury boost with Petr Cech, Nacho Monreal and Danny Welbeck all taking part in training today ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Tottenham.
Cech was unable to train this week prior to today after limping off with a calf problem during the second half of our 5-1 victory over Everton at the Emirates last weekend.
Arsene Wenger confirmed at his press conference yesterday that the 35-year-old was a doubt to face Spurs but it looks like Cech is now in contention as he’s been able to take part in full training today.
Monreal was withdrawn at half-time against Everton last Saturday due to illness but the Spaniard is also set to be fit for the trip to Wembley after training with the rest of the squad this afternoon.
In a triple boost, Welbeck is also set for a return to the squad as he trained at London Colney today having recovered from a muscle injury that’s kept him out for the last month.
It means we have virtually a fully-fit squad to choose from heading in to a vital game against Tottenham where we desperately need a win to close the gap on the top four.
New signings Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are in-line to get their first taste of a North London Derby this weekend after completing moves to Arsenal last month.
