[Player Ratings] Arsenal 5-1 Everton: Mkhitaryan & Ramsey outstanding

By on February 3, 2018

A rampant Arsenal side thrashed Everton 5-1 at the Emirates this evening with Ramsey bagging a hat-trick while Mkhitaryan helped himself to three assists.

Aubameyang also scored on his debut while Koscielny completed the rout as Arsenal got back to winning ways in style.

Here are my ratings:

Cech  6/10 | Had virtually nothing to do in the first half but was involved more after the break when Everton scored before he was forced off through injury.

Ballerin  7/10 | Heavily involved in the first half but quieter after the break.

Koscielny  7/10 | Got himself on the score-sheet with a far post header. Will be disappointed not to get a clean sheet.

Mustafi  7/10 | Clever flick to set-up our second goal and made a superb block to deny Walcott a goal.

Monreal  7/10 | Hit the bar and then almost scored again after seeing a shot blocked. Forced off at half-time with a hamstring problem.

Ramsey  9/10 | Lovely hat-trick and superb display. Opened the scoring with a close range finish before making it 3-0 with a deflected long-range effort. Completed his treble with another fine finish in the second half.

Xhaka  6.5/10 | Solid enough against a limited Everton side. We still need a ‘proper’ defensive midfielder though to compliment our new attack.

Iwobi  7/10 | Improvement from recent performances. Worked hard, always keen to get on the ball and combined well. Just overshadowed by his team mates.

Ozil  7.5/10 | Stunning pass to set Aubameyang clear. He’s going to enjoy playing with him. Great link-up play with our new signings all night.

Mkhitaryan  9.5/10 | A hat-trick of assists as he set up two for Ramsey and one for Auba. However, his work rate also stood out as he was everywhere. Outstanding full debut. Just edges out Rambo for the MOTM.

Aubameyang  7.5/10 | His pace is frightening but showed his finishing ability with a lovely chip. It was offside but who cares. Going to be a great signing.

Subs:

Kolasinac  5/10 | Awful defending for their goal as he didn’t even attempt to jump for the cross. Looks so short of confidence. Sad to see.

Ospina  5/10 | Flapped at a cross after replacing Cech. Hope he doesn’t have to face Tottenham next week.

Wilshere  5/10 | Not much involvement in his 10 minute cameo.

Arsenal 5-1 Everton: Watch the goals here

This was the Arsenal we all know and love. The football in the opening 45 minutes was sensational and our new attack has so much potential. If we can build a real defence and add a new keeper and defensive midfielder to this squad, we might challenge next season.
