Arsenal to make move for Brazilian attacker ahead of January window
According to a report in the Express, Arsenal will make a move to try and sign out-of-favour Paris Saint-Germain attacker Lucas Moura this winter.
The Brazilian international has long been linked with a move to the Emirates and reports during the summer transfer window once again suggested we were keen to lure him to north London.
A move failed to materialise but Moura is being tipped to leave the Parc des Princes in January as he’s fallen down the pecking order at PSG following the arrivals of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.
The 25-year-old has been limited to just 12 minutes of first team action so far this campaign but he still managed to score during his only late cameo during a 5-1 win over Metz earlier this month.
Moura is going to need to leave in January if he wants to secure regular football ahead of next summers World Cup finals and it looks like Arsenal are ready to offer him a fresh start.
The Express are citing a report from Italian outlet transfermarketweb that claims Arsenal will make an enquiry to try and sign the attacker this winter as Wenger looks to find long-term replacements for Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.
Both players could walk away for nothing next summer as they are in the final year of their contracts so Arsenal may decide to cash-in on at least one of the attackers if no extensions are signed before January.
Moura would be an exciting addition to the squad if we could lure him to north London as he has the potential to be a real star if he’s given a more prominent role in a new team.
The south American has provided 46 goals and 47 assists in his 224 appearances for PSG and while he’s predominantly a right-winger, he’s capable of playing anywhere across the attacking positions so he’d give us plenty of options in the final third.
