A growing number of fans are calling for Arsene Wenger to leave Arsenal this summer but the Mirror claim he will sign a new deal and embark upon a £200m summer overhaul.

The newspaper says the expected sales of the likes of Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez, David Ospina, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Olivier Giroud and Lucas Perez will bolster Wenger’s transfer kitty to record levels.

With around £200m to spend, the newspaper says the Frenchman already has his targets lined-up as Wenger looks to bring a new goalkeeper, left-back, winger and two strikers to the club this summer.

The Mirror claim that Jordan Pickford is on Wenger’s radar after impressing at Sunderland this season. The 23-year-old has been superb between the sticks and the Black Cats would have been consigned to the Championship long ago if it wasn’t for him.

He lacks experience at the highest level so I think we’d see him come in as Petr Cech’s understudy for a season before taking over as No.1 and he should be available at a reasonable price with Sunderland heading for relegation.

Celtic’s Kieran Tierney is seemingly Wenger’s pick for the left-back spot as Kieran Gibbs is also expected to leave this summer after failing to hold down a regular place.

Tierney has developed in to a fine full-back at Celtic Park this season and at just 19-years-old, he would be a long-term replacement for Nacho Monreal at the Emirates.

Up front, Alexandre Lacazette is once again named by the Mirror as the man we want having previously been linked with a move to Arsenal for several years.

Lacazette is enjoying a superb campaign at Lyon where he’s plundered 30 goals in all competitions so far and it looks like we’re set to make another attempt to lure him to north London.

Perhaps a surprise name on the list is Wilfried Zaha with the newspaper claiming that Wenger is keen to sign the winger in order to give us some genuine width next season.

Zaha has been excellent since joining Crystal Palace in 2015 and has scored 6 goals as well as providing 11 assists in his 28 games this season so he looks to be finally fulfilling his potential.

The final player named by the Mirror is Moussa Dembele with Wenger supposedly joining half of Europe in the race to sign the Celtic hitman this summer.

Dembele has scored 32 goals for Brendan Rodgers’ side to help fire them to the SPL title and he’s almost certain to move on at the end of the season but we’ll face plenty of competition for his signature.

So it looks like we’re gearing up for a busy summer at the Emirates with the club ready to spend record sums to try and get us competitive again. However, the big question is whether Wenger is the right man to be spending it….
