According to France Football, Laurent Koscielny snubbed a move to Bayern Munich this summer and will be rewarded by being handed the Arsenal’s captain armband.

Koscielny arrived at Arsenal from Lorient in 2011 as a relatively unknown defender but has developed in to one of the best centre-backs in European football over the past couple of years.

The 30-year-old has attracted plenty of interest in recent transfer windows but has remained loyal to Arsenal and it appears that loyalty has once again been tested in recent months.

Get French Football cite reports from France Football which claim that Bayern Munich approached Koscielny and tried to lure him to the Allianz Arena several months ago.

However, Kos is believed to have snubbed the German giants advances and Bayern ended up signing Mats Hummels from Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund.

Koscielny still has three years left to run on his current contract at the Emirates but it would still have been difficult for him to resist Bayern as they are one of the best sides in the world, so he has to be commended.

Get French Football suggest that he’s set to be rewarded by being handed the captains armband by Arsene Wenger following the exit of Mikel Arteta.

My personal preference would be for Petr Cech to become the next skipper but Koscielny is by no means a bad choice – although it’s interesting to see it would mean for Per Mertesacker.

The German was the vice-captain this season and Wenger usually passes on the armband to the next in line when a captain leaves, so if Kos does jump to the front of the queue it suggests that either Per might be leaving or he won’t be considered first choice next season.

Xhaka super, . Must sell Ramsey,Oxlade, Walcott, Campbell and Iwobi. These are players an average leveland would be suitable for Southampton and West Ham. We need Kante and Mahrez. On the top we need player like SUAREZ or LEVANDOVSKY. We have Koscielny, Bellerin, Coquelin, Cazorla, Xhaka, Wilshere and Elneny, also Welbeck,Ozil and the great Sanchez. Arsenal have to buy another goalkeeper because Ospina was mediocre and the Czech prevent mistakes. I would recommend TIM KRUL from Newcastle. We need a left back like Mascherano. Must be sign a central stopper as Mats HUMMELS!!!
