Arsenal slumped to a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Monaco on Sunday afternoon to miss out on winning the Emirates Cup.
We went into the final day with a huge five point margin over Valencia but with the Spaniard’s registering six points with a 3-1 win over Benfica, we dropped to second following our loss to Monaco.
While it was largely a lethargic display by many of our attacking players, Alexis Sanchez put in another encouraging performance. The Chilean started on the right wing and did okay but was far more involved when he moved into the striker role in the second half.
He made some excellent runs and fought for every ball, and although he didn’t really test the goal, that was more down to a lack of service rather than a lack of effort on his part.
