Arsenal Sign Highly-Rated German Midfielder From Barcelona
Arsenal have raided our ‘feeder-club’ Barcelona once again to sign highly-rated midfielder Georgios Spanoudakis, according to reports.
The 15-year-old came through Barca’s famed La Masia academy having joined from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2009, and has emerged as one of their most promising young talents.
However, Arsene Wenger has worked his magic yet again and been able to lure the youngster to the Emirates, beating off competition from a whole host of other top European clubs to sign the player for just €300,000 in compensation.
Spanoudakis is a central midfielder who is known for his passing ability and has already been capped at Under-16 level with Germany, although there is talk he may switch allegiance to his native Greece.
The youngster becomes the latest player to swap the Nou Camp for North London with Arsene having already lured Cesc Fabregas, Fran Merida, Jon Toral, Hector Bellerin and Julio Pleguezuelo away from Barcelona in recent years.
Spanoudakis is expected to link-up with the Arsenal Under-18 side this coming season and hopefully he goes on to become more ‘Fabregas’ and less ‘Merida’ during his time at the club.

Arsene is really good in buying for the future. What about the present? Aren’t you there for the present? You can’t shoot now without ammunition. The future requires different arsenal! If you can’t do now what hope the future. Wise up please.
