Arsenal WILL Officially Reveal Second Summer Signing On Thursday
Arsenal will officially announce the arrival of Mathieu Debuchy as our second summer signing on Thursday.
We’ve been waiting for what feels like weeks for the French international to be revealed by the club after he underwent a medical and agreed personal terms LAST Monday after we agreed a fee with Newcastle – believed to be around £8m.
The 28-year-old removed ‘Newcastle United player’ from his Twitter bio and reports claim he even posed for photos in the Arsenal kit, but still here we are waiting for him to become a Gooner.
Well, the wait is almost over as widespread reports this evening claim that Arsenal will unveil Debuchy on Thursday after Newcastle signed his replacement, Daryl Janmaat, on Wednesday afternoon.
Debuchy will come in as Bacary Sagna’s replacement and will be our second major summer signing following the sensational arrival of Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona last week.
It looks like we’ll then swiftly (hopefully!) announce Javi Manquillo as our third signing, with the 20-year-old defender joining on a season-long loan from Atletico Madrid.
After that, Arsene Wenger is expected to bring in a back-up goalkeeper with a deal for David Ospina understood to be close, and a defensive midfielder. There has been plenty of talk surrounding Sami Khedira and Morgan Schneiderlin but we’ll have to see what the boss brings us.
Exciting times Arsenal fans. Just enjoy the rumours and hopefully we’ll have a squad capable of competing for the title come the start of the season…
