Striker ‘Desperate’ To Push Through £29m Move To Arsenal Next Week
The Daily Mail are reporting today that Mario Balotelli is ‘desperate’ to join Arsenal and will try and push through a move next week.
The Italian hitman has been strongly linked with a move to the Emirates this summer with some newspaper suggesting last week that Arsene Wenger had held talks with the players agent, Mino Raiola, in Brazil.
Balotelli is keen to leave AC Milan just 18 months after joining from Manchester City after being targetted for racial abuse last season and his Raiola hinted at a move away on Friday after criticising Milan’s vice-president Barbara Berlusconi after she said the striker was ‘replaceable’.
Reports have suggested that Raiola has already held discussions with the Milan chiefs where it was decided the striker could leave if their £29m asking price was met.
Arsene has done his best to play down his interest in the 23-year-old but the Daily Mail claim that Balotelli is ‘desperate’ to make the move to north London and will do his best to force a switch next week as he’s concerned we’ll move for other targets later in the summer.
However, I’m not sure Arsene is the kind of manager who will be ‘forced’ into making a decision. He’ll take his time and it’s clear he’s in no rush to get his business done, so I don’t see Balotelli’s ploy working on this occasion.
Arsene has plenty of striker targets and I’m not convinced Balotelli is his first choice, so it’s likely the boss will see if his key targets are available first before making any formal move for the controversial Italian.
