Fabregas ‘Tells Wenger He Wants Arsenal Move’ – Report

By on May 24, 2014

Could it happen Gooners? Could Cesc Fabregas be coming back to Arsenal?

There has been a lot of talk about it over the past few days but it seems to have moved a step closer as reports today claim that Cesc has now told Arsene Wenger he want to return to north London this summer.

Widespread reports suggest Barca are ready to cash-in, with Cesc seen as a sellable asset as new boss Luis Enrique looks to overhaul the squad after a disappointing season under Tata Martino last year.

Manchester United keep getting linked and I even saw a report today suggesting Chelsea had thrown their hat into the ring, but the funny thing is most newspapers keep failing to mention the fact we inserted a number of clause’s into Cesc’s contract when we sold him three years ago.

The general consensus is; Firstly, Barcelona have to inform Arsenal if any club make a formal bid for Cesc and give us the opportunity to exercise our buy-back clause, which is set at a fixed price of £25m.

Should either Arsene or Cesc turn down the transfer and he moves to another club, we will be entitled to 50% of any fee above the price we sold him for – which is believed to be £35m.  So put simply, we hold all the cards if Cesc is leaving Barcelona this summer.

Arsene may decide he’s a luxury we don’t need and let him move elsewhere, but I’d be majorly surprised if that turned out to be the case. Arsene adores Cesc and I think he’d jump at the chance to re-sign him.

So for me, it will all come down to Fabregas and whether he wants to come back, and it looks like he’s up for it as the Metro are claiming that the 27-year-old has now told Arsene he wants to sign for Arsenal.

Obviously we don’t know how much truth there is in these reports, but it wouldn’t surprise me at all. Cesc has never hidden his love to Arsenal and said only at Christmas that he could only see himself playing for us or Barca, so if he is on the way out of the Nou Camp, there’s only one place he’ll want to come.

Forget talk of United or anywhere else. He’ll only consider another club if Wenger doesn’t want him, and that won’t happen.

Whether we need him is another question, but you can’t turn down players like Cesc, especially if we can get him for just £25m. Which is a bargain in todays market.

I can see this being a ‘saga’ over the summer but I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Spanish maestro back in the famous Red & White next season.

There is a lot of emotion attached to this one, it could be good , it could be not so good. Wenger and Fabregas plough their trade in a very professional world so Wenger would certainly have to justify bringing him back.
    Myself, I think he will.

I see Cesc returning and Griezman, and perhaps Vela!
The inclusion of a keeper to challenge Szc, Serge on the back/flanks, Khedri and Manzudic will put Arsenal contenders for all trophies next season!!

Wilshere, Ramsey, Ozil, Cazorla, Fabregas and Rosicky! Even Giroud could score 30 in the league with that midfield. If we were to sign Cesc we’d still need another 3 signings.

The problem is that I don’t understand why this deal hasn’t happened yet. All these talks of whether or not we need Fabregas back is childish. Ozil, Ramsey, Fabregas, Wilshere, Cazorla can play in the same team. Benzima upfront and we are good to go. Team: W Sczeczny, Serge Aurier BFG, Bosscielny, C. Gibbs, Lars Bender, A. Ramsey, Fabregas, M. Ozil, Theo Walcott and K. Benzima

Deal hasn’t gone through as transfer window doesn’t open until 1st July. Lots of paper talk, but fans need to show patience!

The deal may depend on salary though. Even though Arsenal appear to hold the cards, if United offer him 200,000 grand a week, and Arsenal don’t, then he may decide that he doesn’t want to go to Arsenal.

Bear in mind he took a pay cut to leave Arsenal for Barca – clearly isn’t overly demanding on the salary front and we could offer him at least 150k if it came to it.

How can some gunners say we don’t need fab and still complain about our lack of quality in depth, please remember that injuries to our important players derailed our season. Obviously we need specific positions to be covered but rejecting quality when you hold all the cards is just plain stupidity. Imagine cesc being around when ramsey or ozil or jack were injured, we would have had a reliable player to fall upon as we’ve seen before.

Why not! Sesc is a great player & we need him. Arsenal problem has been lack of reliable back up in case of injury to any first team player at a crucial stage of the previous campaigns. So, arsene need not to be unecessarily economical. Let him get us our loving former skipper & we are champions again.

Halla Gunners greeting 4rm me. If 4 no reason Fab is gunners bound to add reasonable match winning depth, As wiLshere got injured nd Ramsy nd Ozil we were left with just carzola nd arteta that is nt good 4 a team that is champions league bound nd challenging the league nd UEFA CL. It should be More of finding the sublime with wislshere nd Ces at CM with Flamini DM or Rambo/Ozil with ?…DM then we cn sleep at having carzola,Diaby to rotate with week in week out. Mind Us we need a strong CB striker and RB Retain fabianski work on martinez to develope nd our youth at RB. Hail gunners

He slowed us down when he was in the team. We’re much more dynamic now. Ozil and Rambo offer us more – why waste the money when we need to spend it elsewhere?
