Wenger Reveals Triple Injury Blow Ahead Of Key Games

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger revealed a triple injury blow after last nights disappointing 2-2 draw with Swansea City.

After seeing his team throw away two points, Arsene confirmed to Arsenal.com that none of Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey and Laurent Koscielny are close to returning from injury.

The boss claims that Rambo is most likely to be the player back quickest, but he’s still around two weeks away from being in contention.  This suggests the midfielder is taking longer than expected to recover from his latest set-back as he was pencilled in to return to the squad to face Manchester City on Saturday.

However, that now appears to be out of the question with the Welshman also set to miss an important trip to Goodison Park to face Everton while his participation in the semi final of the FA Cup against Wigan is also in doubt.

Mesut Ozil is also going to miss the vital City and Everton games as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury and with Wenger saying he’ll be out for ‘at least two to three weeks’, it doesn’t look like the German will be back for the trip to Wembley either.

There was also bad news concerning Koscielny. The Frenchman picked up a calf strain against Chelsea and it was reported that he would be back in two weeks. However, Arsene has revealed the defender will be out for ‘a while’, suggesting that he will be the last to return out of the injury trio.

None of them are close to coming back. Koscielny is out for a while. After that Ozil, I don’t know but at least two or three weeks. Ramsey is perhaps the closest. He is two weeks maybe.

The biggest blow is perhaps Ramsey, as we have sorely missed his energy and goal threat from midfield over the last three months. It’s cruel luck to lose him for such a long period as he was having a sensational season and it’s no coincidence our form has dipped while he’s been out.

Koscielny is also a huge blow as he’ll be a big miss against City and Everton. Vermaelen is an excellent third-choice option but there’s little denying that we’re not as solid at the back without Kos in the side. I really don’t think we would have dropped points last night if the Frenchman was playing.

Once again our season has been derailed, with injuries playing a massive part. We might win the FA Cup this season but we’re simply not going to be able to sustain a title challenge until the end unless we solve our injury woes, or buy a squad strong enough to cope with the amount of injuries we suffer.
