Arsenal Handed Major Injury Boost With Star Set For Early Return
It looks like we’ve been handed a massive injury boost with reports this evening claiming that Jack Wilshere is set for an early return to action.
Jack has recently returned from a week away in Dubai where he was recuperating after seeing his season disrupted by yet another injury.
He was ruled out for up to eight weeks after fracturing a bone in his left foot following a heavy tackle from Liverpool’s Daniel Agger during England’s ‘friendly’ with Denmark earlier this month.
However, the Daily Mail are now reporting that the 22-year-old has been given some positive news following a check-up with the clubs medical team this week, where it was revealed that the injury isn’t as bad as first feared.
Wilshere was initially not expected back in action until early May, which would have meant he’d only have featured in the last few games of our season, but the newspaper suggests Jack’s now targetting a return in mid-April with him even considered an outsider to make the Wigan game on 12th April.
Interestingly, the Mail claim Jack has only been wearing his protective boot in public, but behind the scenes it’s believed he’s able to ‘walk freely’.
It will be a HUGE boost to get Wilshere back earlier than expected, particularly with Aaron Ramsey struggling to overcome a serious thigh injury. Rambo is going to take some time to find his feet again when he eventually does return and he won’t be able to start every game, so it will be great to have another body available in midfield.
Fingers crossed this report is accurate and I’ll bring any more updates as and when I get them….
