Arsenal Set To Announce Triple Deal
Arsenal are set to announce they have agreed new deals for Santi Cazorla, Per Mertesacker and Tomas Rosicky, according to reports today.
Reports last week claimed Mertesacker has already agreed a new extension that will tie him down to the club until 2017, while Arsene Wenger revealed after the 4-1 win over Sunderland that Rosicky has agreed a new contract, which is believed to be a one-year rolling deal.
It seems Cazorla is the latest player who will be handed a new deal with the Daily Mail claiming the Spaniard is on the verge of finalising the terms on an improved £80,000-a-week contract that will see him commit to the club until 2017.
Cazorla’s current deal expires in 2016, so it will only be a one-year extension, but with the attacker now 29-years-old, the new contract will take him up to the age of 32.
The newspaper suggests that Arsenal are now all-set to announce the new deals for Cazorla, Mertesacker and Rosicky, but doubts continue to hang over the future of Bacary Sagna.
The Frenchman is out-of-contract at the end of the season and there’s been no breakthrough in negotiations over a fresh deal. If we can’t come to an agreement over the coming weeks, it looks like he’ll be off with PSG, Monaco, Inter Milan, Galatasaray as well as several Premier League club all understood to be interested.
It’s obviously great news to hear the club are ready to secure the futures of Cazorla, Mertesacker and Rosicky, but I’ll be gutted if we lose Sagna this summer. He’s been excellent all season so I hope we can find a breakthrough soon.
