Report: Arsenal Chief In Italy Trying To Sign Prolific Striker

By on January 31, 2014

Arsenal have given up trying to land No.1 forward target Julian Draxler and chief contract-fixer Dick Law is now in Italy trying to thrash out a loan deal for Lazio striker Miroslav Klose, according to reports today.

We’ve been in talks all week with Schalke for Draxler but with the German’s refusing to lower their £37m asking price and Wenger not willing to meet it, we’ve now switched our focus to a short-term option.

Various newspapers have claimed we’re interested in Klose over the past few hours but Goal are now reporting that Dick Law is already in Italy and holding talks with Lazio about a six-month loan deal.

Klose is now 35 years old but has been one of the most prolific strikers in Europe over the past 10 years, scoring 203 goals in 514 club appearances during time at the likes of Bayern Munich and Werder Breman, as well as 68 in 130 for Germany.

While he’s now coming to the end of his career, he’ll certainly provide us with a real goal threat up front if we do manage to land him and with Lazio apparently signing Helder Postiga, it looks like a deal could be done.

Klose could follow another veteran to the Emirates with 31-year-old Swedish midfielder Kim Kallstrom set to complete a loan move today as well.

Will you be happy if our two signings are Kallstrom and Klose?

I just saw this on Wiki!
Miroslav Josef Klose (German pronunciation: [ˈmɪʁoslaf ˈkloːzə] ( listen), Polish: [miˈrɔswaf ˈklɔzɛ]; born 9 June 1978)[4] is a German professional footballer who plays as a striker for Arsenal, on loan from Lazio in the Serie A.

We need a good player now, not a guy with a promising future. Klose is a hard working goalscorer and best of all, he’s a threat in the air

Klose will be a perfect addition if Law can seal the deal. As a fellow swede do l have mixed feelings about Kim Källström. For you guys that don’t know him is he a lot like Arteta but his best feature is his long passing instead of short passing and maybe a bit more mean than Mikel. But is he a good fit?? I don’t know…

All the board members are useless. they are so stupid that they don’t know what to do. Chelsea has a good team likewise Liverpool, man. city and even everton. Giorld is an idiots. wenger is stupid too for allowing Giorld to be his first choice stricker.

I agree with you Henrik. We need a proven goalscorer NOW, not one for the future. As for Kallstrom if you can compare him to Arteta he is a great addition for the run in.

It amazes me when i hear that Wenger don’t like spending money to get what he wants. Sometimes it makes me wonder if he is spending from his personal pocket. Its surprising that a professor never realised that nothing of quality is cheap.

I think matuidi and costa would make more difference than these but no doubt kallstom and klose would also be a wonderful addition let’s still hope wenger may still make one significant signing u never can tell

These guys are stop-gaps. The only proven player out of the two is Miroslav Klose. Once saw Kallstrom in Lyon’s colour but couldn’t assess him. I pray the Swede isn’t a flop in embryo.
