My Preferred Starting XI To Take On Swansea

By on September 26, 2013

It’s back to Premier League action this weekend as we take on Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday evening.

It was a grueling game against West Brom last night so thankfully the majority of the first team were given a well earned rest. The only players I expect to start again on Saturday are Per Mertesacker and potentially Serge Ganbry.

I didn’t think Gnabry had a great game against the Baggies. He worked hard but nothing really seemed to come off for him. But with Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain out we have very little options on the right hand side, so it looks as though the young German will be given another chance to impress.

The rest of the team almost picks itself with all the ‘big-guns’ returning. Mikel Arteta started his first game of the season yesterday and came off in the 95th minute with cramp, so I don’t expect him to start again this weekend.

Jack will once again be deployed on the left hand side with the likes of Santi Cazorla, Lukas Podolski and Tomas Rosicky out – although Santi said today he hopes to return next week which will be a huge boost.

Here’s how I think we’ll line-up this weekend.

What do you think? Anyone you’d like to see start instead?

I’d like Mert rested against the slick Swans and Vermalaen played in his place. I also doubt if Gnabry can cope after playing 120 minutes and missing a penalty! Should try Akpom in his place.

Might have to bring Arteta in again, moving Ozil to the right and push Ramsey up to the attacking mid, I hope it doesn’t happen, but it might!

How about Jenkinson instead of Gnarby? He has a mean cross on him and he can run for days. Would also stiffen up our righthand side. Giroud would benifit from his crossing. My team would be Scez, Sagna, Verm, Kos, Gibbs, Flamini, Ramsey, Wilshere, Jenks, Ozil, Giroud.

Isn’t this our regular team? When we don’t have our little Spain and Theo , I think this is best what we can do right now . Arteta is not ready yet Per is capital fantastic and we will win the game 3- 2

I would start vermaelen and put per on early second half if he struggling! Time to see if with the support and belief of the fans and manager we can get our club captain back to his best!
I would like to see jenkinson playing on the right wing at the weekend! He is in better physical shape than any of the others and he is not a novice to competing at this level like gnarby or ryo and giroud would lap up his crosses should he decide to cross the ball! He has a bale feel to him and I’m excited abt his future!replace him with eisfield( the new pires!) if tired!

Gnabry IS NOT READY. Ryo is even better. Arteta should rest and jenkinson start as RW. Gbabry is preferred as he has the built compared to Ryo or Eisfeld or any of the other young players. But right now he is still poor.
