Arsenal Want Conte To Replace Wenger

By on September 19, 2013

Some interesting news doing the rounds in the newspapers today with the Express one of several media outlets claiming that Arsenal have made Juventus coach Antonio Conte their No.1 target to replace Arsene Wenger if he leaves next summer.

Wenger has just 9 months left to run on his current contract and has admitted he’s in no rush to open talks over an extension. The Frenchman hinted recently that his future will depend on how well the team does this season.

Now what he feels qualifies as success is open to interpretation but I’m guessing that if we fail to qualify for the top four and don’t win a trophy, Wenger won’t be our manager next season. He may even feel it’s time to call it a day if we scrape fourth again like last year. Who knows.

There are also large sections of Arsenal fans who feel a change of leadership is required now, so it’s safe to say that Wenger’s tenure is certainly in the balance and it seems the club is starting to draw up plans for who could take over should we find ourselves without a manager come June.

The Express claim the man we’ve identified is Juve’s Antonio Conte – who’s led the Italians to successive Serie A titles so he certainly has pedigree.

When the day comes to replace Wenger, be it this summer or in another 5 years, Conte and Klopp are two men I’d love to see take. But it remains to be seen whether either would be willing to give up their current projects to come to the Emirates.

Who would you like to see replace Wenger when he eventually leaves?

IF Arsene leaves, which I hope he doesn’t, Klopp, withot a doubt.

I’ve thought for years how much we and Dortmund are alike, and I’d rather see our squad with more germans than italians!

    Wenger in!

Can’t see him leaving for a few years. He has led us to the promised land after some lean years, the board want him to stay on, and he can now start adding world class player to an already good squad with the financial resources to hand to build a title-challenging side in the next year or two. I know he’s not perfect, who is. He deserves another 3 years though.

Conte realy? Italians only know one thing and that’s defending. If wenger do leave (which i doubt) then its klopp, if not klopp then it has to be laudrup.. But before wenger leaves i would love him to attract all the required top top players we need so we won’t face the same difficulty FA FC(Man utd) are facing now to attract top players to their club

If he leaves the club which I doubt Kloop is absolutely best option, the only thing that Wenger makes me mad and worry, is he has control our everything in the club special transfer policy I mean the manager should do his job only as manager and let the others take responsibilities for transfer windows after his need, he said before he has no time to do everything by him self then why should he involves in that matter????? Of course he must decide which player comes or goes at the end of day. But let us se what will there happeneds in winters window we need really more quality player and he knows and already has admitted but he is so slow and difficult to give money away, but I have such a feeling that we will win something this season maybe I am too optimist !

When Arsene decides to retire then Michael Laudrup of Swansea would be a good alternative. He has a good eye for talent and wins the respect and loyalty of his players. He is tactically competent and experienced in Dutch, Italian, Spanish and English footbal. One of the best young managers in the world and like Arsene is down to earth and excellent man manager and loyal to Swansea. It will be difficult to lure him away though.

I hope we clinch the tittle before Arsene leave. We loss a reason for top players to come but if the time is up life must goes on. Juergen Klopp is suitable for the job. He makes Dortmund able to compete and defeat the giant dog Bayern Munchen. Makes Bundesliga isn’t a one club show. He can bring that mentality here, but only if our old man had bring back the loss silverwares.
