Higuain Off To Tottenham? Surely Not?!

By on June 27, 2013

With most Gooners eagerly anticipating the seemingly imminent arrival of Gonzalo Higuain, I was slightly surprised to read an article from the Times newspaper today that claimed Real Madrid have offered the striker to Tottenham as part of a player-plus-cash swap deal to try and finally land Gareth Bale.

We’ve been strongly linked with the Argentinean hitman in recent weeks and many newspapers were suggesting over the past couple of days that he was on the verge of completing a £22m move to the Emirates after Juventus dropped their interest in order to sign Carlos Tevez from Manchester City, with talkSPORT even claiming the 25-year-old is in London waiting to undergo his medical.

However, based on the Times article a deal with Arsenal cannot be close to completion, otherwise why would they be trying to use him as a way to land Bale?

The basis of their report claims the Spanish giants are unwilling to meet Tottenham’s £85m price tag for the Welshman so have offered Higuain and left-back Fabio Coentrao, as well as a large unspecified sum, in what would be a tempting player-plus-cash swap deal.

Our interest in Higuain is certain, but let’s say for a second the Times are correct and he’s been offered to Spurs. If they are resigned to loosing Bale (I’m not suggesting they are), no doubt they would jump at the chance to have the Argentinean international in exchange, but would Higuain even consider shelving his proposed move to Arsenal and agree to a move to White Hart Lane instead?

It’s highly doubtful to say the least. They would struggle to afford his wages for one and they can’t offer him Champions League football either. Let’s be honest, he’s also way too good for them, but that hasn’t stopped some Spurs fans trying to wind Gooners up on Twitter by claiming Higuain could now be heading to White Hart Lane (conveniently forgetting  the fact that in order for that to happen they would have to lose monkey-boy).

However, I’m not buying the Times article for one second. In my eyes, it changes very little. Arsenal are still heavy favourites to sign Higuain and I fully expect the deal to be completed in the coming days. But even if we manage to cock this one up somehow, there’s virtually no chance he’ll end up at Spurs anyway.

Have him he is crap. Higuain is slow and makes Christopher Wreh looklike Pele. What you immigrants need to worry about is your unbelievable luck running out, then your bang in trouble.

You’re clearly totally clueless, Higuain is class. Only Messi and Ronaldo have scored more goals in La Liga in the last 7 years and he’s hardly even been starting! He’s also younger than both of them being 25 so he isn’t even peaking yet.

Also our luck isn’t running out, Arsenal don’t believe in luck. Yeah we go through rough patches but don’t we all. Have you forgotten that the last time you Spuds won the league was in 1961?

Also you’re name says a lot about yourself, you’re clearly a very bitter cu**!

Ps. Have fun watching the Europa League 😉

Why would Higuain want to go to a club with fans like this infantile crretin? Calling Bale monkey-boy demonstrates immaturity and a rather nast outlook on life. It’s not big or clever and demeans grown-uo decent Arsenal fans. Despicable little people don’t realise how moronic they come across. perhps tehe scribbbler of this pathetic drivel might post a pphoto of himself so that we might also be able to form our own opinions as, from his juvenile put down, he must think himself to be a regular Adonis. North London? Bet it’s more like ‘Acne!

So he would obviously go to spurs with their mature fans who call wilshere a coke head and wenger a pedo. The fact is all fans have digs at players so to try and call arsenal fans immature is stupid. Your making out that only arsenal fans make jokes about players appearance even though fans world wide referred to brazilian ronaldo as fat ronaldo, suarez as a donkey and rooney as shrek.

It’s invention by a jounalist at Spanisg paper AS who ‘predicts’ that that is an offer Real Madrid will make. Our media then report it as an official bid which is of course complete fabrication.

    June 27, 2013 at 8:30 pm

I don’t think for a second that Higuain is ‘crap’ or ‘slow’ but his main attribute at Real has always been his affinity with the fans due to his unwavering loyalty.

He’s certainly not the quickest anymore but is pretty smart and should chip in with with a few goals. He’s no world beater though and would really struggle with the hustle and bustle of the premiership as much as anything.

Good luck to him though, always enjoyed seeing him.

    Great time to need a f**kn s**t
We are not allowed to buy a decent player even when we can afford to what the f**K is Wenger to do? Remember Fabregs, Arsenal had no deal to sell him to Braca but the kid insisted he would go no where else not even to Real and we lost a potful of money cos of that.
Why in our case Higuan does not just insist to go to Arsenal. RVP wanted United and not City he got it!. So what the f**k is this s**t using Higuan as bait for Bale. Arsenal did not ask for Cachirito or welbck as part payment for RVP. We did not ask for Busqets or pedro as part payment for fabraegs now I read that when we want a player someone can just come in scew us over just like that!! Too bad Arsene just seems to respect everybody a little too much.
What about Rooney…now here is a player with the cahonis to get what he wants.. he stood up to red nose and did not get farmed away like Beckham. So if Arsenal really really want him and can really really pay and Rooney really really wants Arsenal red nose and Moyes will SELL HIM TO ARSENAl! The problem is he will also stand up to Wenger as well make him buy more quality players. Well I hear Professors up their game when they have an “A” student in their class.
Let me assure you guys, whatever happens with HIguain or Rooney or any other “star” no artificial barrier can prevent STARS or TALENTS from migrating towards great value. Arsenal is great value. It is a huge step up for talented players who are lucky to make the cut and it is a hugely attractive like for like option for any big club player whom we believe can fit into our system.

S lets quit f**kn around and start scrutinzing the offers we are ignoring right now. It is OK to be proactive but that should not give the public the impression that other good players are not being offered to us!!
Sorry i write too much an spell wromgly whn im pissed

Another ridiculous article by the Tottenham obsessed gooners. Might be worth taking seriously until you said ‘Let’s be honest, he’s also way too good for them’ at which stage it just become another pathetic wind up. Anyway, talks have taken place at Arsenal, but nothing at Real Madrid will be resolved until the new manager decides what he wants his squad to look like – let’s face it that’s pretty obvious even for you. Real Madrid are like no other club and they may well use him as bait to get Bale, but right now it is more than likely Bale will stay at Tottenham and Higuain will go to Arsenal.

No matter how bad we are , year after year we finish above the spuds so what does that say about your tin pot team .. until you win the prem and qualify for the CL over 15 seasons in a row and go a season unbeaten then you can’t be classed as a ‘big club ‘ so pipe down spud fans and get real .. The only reason you are known outside of England is because you are our rivals …. X

    • Mark

      June 27, 2013 at 10:00 pm

So big club is just about winning trophies is it? So right now Chelsea are by far the biggest club in England because over the past decade or so they have won the most trophies. Or is it total trophies because that makes Aston Villa a massive club. Most of what makes a big club is fan base and I mean genuine fan base not all the pretend fans who have cropped up with their new scarves and prawn sandwiches. In that respect there is nothing between Tottenham and Arsenal. And how far back do you go with trophies anyway because, as we know, if it’s 8 years Arsenal are no longer a big club. Liverpool haven’t won the premier league so obviously there are not a big club either. You know you are talking nonsense. If you do not know this, you know absolutely nothing about football.

    • Gio

      June 27, 2013 at 11:37 pm

Liverpool is still considered as a big club because they won CL Cup 4th, or 5th times? Where were you spuds? Arsenal have not won any CL cup, yet, but we already manage to fight the best of the best for 15 years in a row. So please don’t show how downgrade you are, spuds.

          June 28, 2013 at 2:29 pm

Jah read my comment again; engage brain (actually borrow someone else’s and get them to read it) and then comment again. You have no idea what a big club is. You are going to base it on trophies and qualifying for the Champions League. Absolutely clueless. What does fan base count for? Turnover? Profit? Are Chelsea and Man City bigger than Arsenal. Monaco? PSG? All the nouveau riche Russian clubs? Just stick to Arsenal are bigger than Tottenham. I believe Tottenham are MUCH bigger than Arsenal. Why? Because their genuine fan bases are similar and Arsenal have won loads of trophies while Tottenham have won very few. I had the misfortune of covering some Arsenal games last year and there were occasions when at least 10,000 people didn’t bother to turn up. Why? Because it’s full of johnny come latelys jumping on the bandwagon, but they miraculously have to go to Lady Helena’s wedding just when Arsenal are out of all competitions (around February). I am guessing you are still at school

Let wenger turn to another direction if Higuan is being offered to spurs lewondwoski is the right man and lonely striker that solve the striking line problems the gunners are facing at the moment.Rooney would be yet another player provided he is willing whole heartedly to make gunners shine. I see no need for him wenger to be withonly one option have plan ‘B’

  17. Ashley

    June 27, 2013 at 10:57 pm

In my example of what a big club is did I just say winning trophies or did I also say qualifying for the CL every year and going a prem season. Unbeaten …. Yes I did .. So I say again , the spuds are not a big club ….. Compare your history to ours and its pretty grim reading …. History makes a club a big club .. The Gunners have it the spuds do not …. One more thing …. We finish above you even when we have an awful season ! Can someone please tell me how that can happen yet spud fans think thy are better than us !?

    • Gio

      June 28, 2013 at 12:10 am

If Spurs aren’t a big club anymore then neither are arsenal. Qualifying for the CL (and celebrating like you just won it) isn’t grounds for calling yourself a big club. In that case I would say that Nottingham Forest are a bigger club then arsenal because they have won the equivalent of the Champions League twice. Neither Spurs or arsenal have won it. So stop mouthing off nonsense you insignificant little fool.

    • Jay

      June 28, 2013 at 12:11 am

Luck and the amount of dodgy decisions that went in arses favour. Where as spurs didn’t get those decisions. Spurs didn’t get a penalty all season despite the fact there were 2 blatant ones in the last game alone. Here are a few examples:
1- Giroud dives in the box after pulling kamaras shirt, penalty awarded vs Norwich. Replays show giroud dived. In the same game Walcott scores an offside goal. Should of ended 1-1 but ended 3-1.

2- Vs Man Utd H- Walcott is offside for an early opener. Should of ended 1-0 to utd but ended 1-1.

3- Vs Southampton A- A second Ramierez goal is wrongly ruled out. Should of ended 1-0 to Southampton but ended 1-1.

3 off the top of my head those points took you above spurs.

Spurs have a very good history just like arses have. Your either dumb or deluded or both to suggest otherwise. But in your past as well as present you’ve always had mother luck on your side.

  18. Ashley

    June 27, 2013 at 11:05 pm

Bottom line is , people only know spuds exist , when they ask who Arsenals local rivals are …. Spuds have done nothing else in order to be known outside of England .. Small club , no history , always playing catch up , biggest game of any season is when they play the gunners , got beat 5-2 by us twice a within a year ….. And you think you are near us in any way shape or form .. No you are not

    • Jay

    • Jay

      June 28, 2013 at 12:02 am

Got beaten 5-2 because redknapp left key players out and played an injured king against Walcott the first time. Then got beaten because we had 10 men on the pitch. Funny how you forget you were not even In the game 11vs 11 on the pitch, were 1-0 down and narrowly avoided conceeding a second and that only when adebayor got sent off did you do anything and then you took advantage of your extra man. That’s why you won like that. But you did lose twice within a year at the lane .. No mention of that though!

    • Gio

      June 28, 2013 at 12:02 am

      No History??You are a moron.
We won our first FA Cup in 1901, you first won it in 1927.
We won our first European trophy in 1962 (Cup winners cup)
      You in 1970 (Fairs Cup)
We did the double in 1961, you did it in 1971
I would say that you had great success in the 30’s. Other then that the 2 clubs records aren’t that dissimilar.
As for the so called invincibles well everyone knows that you dived and cheated your way through the entire season, in fact I believe it was against Portsmouth that the diving cheat Pires blatant dive earned you a penalty and you equalised when you were heading for a defeat. Otherwise the invincibles would never have happened as this was about the 3rd or 4th game of the season. So that legend is built on a lies and cheats, but that’s what we expect from the arses. COYS!!!

Mac14 is a big joke. Arsenal were lucky to finish above a vastly- superior team in Spurs. Lucky because spurs had an off- day against Fulham at home. If it was just a draw, arsenal would have been fifth. I think hilguain would prefer to play for spurs because he would get fantastic support from bale and Dembele in addition to the others. BUT we rather have David Villa – he is far better than Higuain.

I’m not worry at all. Higuain’s move from Madrid to Spuds will like you live in Miami jetset mansion ,then move to swamp house not faraway. Higuain is smarter than Vertonghen, and to be honest, Spuds needed Bale only just to keep running with us (behind us as always, unfortunately). If they lose their “living legend” they maybe be fight to evade relegation next season. Poor Lily…
