Higuain Agrees Terms Over £22m Move – Fellaini Could Be Set To Follow
The summer transfer window could be about to hot-up for Arsenal fans with reports today claiming we’ve agreed terms with Gonzalo Higuain over a potential £22m move from Real Madrid.
The well-respected Telegraph newspaper are one of several media outlets who’re reporting that the Argentinean hitman has agreed personal terms of £130,000-a-week to move to the Emirates this summer with a £22m deal understood to be close to completion.
The boss is believed to be keen to conclude negotiations with the Spanish giants quickly and he’s confident he’ll have Higuain on board before we fly out to the Far East for a pre-season tour early next month.
Should this deal go through it would represent a huge shift in Arsene Wenger’s transfer policy and be a real statement of intent from the club. Fans have been crying out for us to spend some money and open the purse strings a little and with all the talk of Wenger having a ‘£70m warchest’ at his disposal, it seems we’re finally being given our wish.
If signing Higuain wouldn’t be exciting enough, the Telegraph are also reporting that Arsenal hold a serious interest in Everton’s Marouane Fellaini and are eager to pursue a deal, but Wenger has so far been reluctant to match the Belgian’s £24m buy-out clause.
Personally, I’d love to see Fellaini join the club and £24m seems a reasonable price for a 25-year-old international who’s proven in the Premier League and would offer something different to the squad. If we’re serious about buying him, I suggest we get things moving asap before the likes of Chelsea and Man City come sniffing….if they haven’t done so already.
Just imagine how much stronger the Arsenal starting eleven would look with Higuain and Fellaini in it:
Szczesny
Sagna – Mertesacker – Koscielny – Gibbs
Arteta – Wilshere
Walcott – Fellaini – Cazorla
Higuain
You can argue about how we’d shape up and who would play where, but there aren’t many better sides than that around, that’s for sure. MAKE IT HAPPEN ARSENE!

Wenger for sure should lets Arsenal funs smile this term by bringing likes of Higuin, maruone F., even Nani if possible. But the manager like talking but doesn’t fullfill his wishes. I will be sad if he doesn’t do that

I think Maruone F. is more important to us done any other player cux he has the premiership bite already and had shown what he is capable of so he would not have problem with adaptation at all. hence he will be playing alongside Arteta – old team mate and friend.
AW please go for Maruone F.!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wenger good job on Higuain. Please follow up and seal up the deals with that of Fellaini too. Fellaini will be the much talked about replacement for Alex Song. It will sure be a rewarding deal if you do seal it up. We are all already planning for the unveiling.

Personally I would swap wilshire and fellaini around as both prefer those postions. Fellaini has experience of playing deeper alongside arteta and is certainly more disciplined than wilshire in terms of holding his position. Szczesney would be my only concern in that starting x1 but if he can keep the form that he showed on his return last season and stay focused he can be the best keeper in the league. Whilst people are linking us with other keepers I would only search for a replacement for fabianski and mannone. Even with just those two signings even the back up x1 looks strong, so imagine what one or two more signings could achieve.
Back up x1
Fabianski
Jenkinson djourou vermaelen monreal
Coquelin ramsey
Chamberlain rosicky podolski
Giroud

If Arsenal buy Fellaini it is to use him as a defensive midfielder, there is NO WAY he’ll play as number ten. He is not a good enough passer to play there in a top club. The number ten role goes to Whilshere/Cazorla

fellaini is holding out for a move to united or chelsea,he sees a move to arsenal as a sideways step.

Why would you buy Fellaini and play him in the wrong position? He’s a defensive midfielder. He only played further forward because Everton lacked options in that area.

If these are dreams then i just pray they become reality. Fellaini is the answer to our defensive midfield and Higuian a proven striker. Please Mr Wenger makes us happy for once.
