Arsenal ‘Confident’ Of Pulling Off Stunning €81m Deal – Report
Some interesting transfer news to bring you today with reports claiming that Arsenal are set to launch a stunning €81m (£64m) swoop on Real Madrid for attacker Isco.
The 22-year-old has seen his playing time limited since his arrival at the Bernabeu from Malaga 18 months ago as the likes of Ronaldo, Bale and Rodriquez are all ahead of him in Carlo Ancelotti’s pecking order.
Not surprisingly, a number of clubs have been linked with a move for the Spanish international with Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City among the English teams believed to be keen on offering him a new start in the Premier League.
However, the Daily Star are claiming today that Arsene Wenger has now made Isco one of his key January transfer targets and is confident of pulling off a sensational €81m (£64m) deal.
Now don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge fan of Isco’s and would love to see him join Arsenal, but £64m? Really? Do you seriously think Arsene will spend that kind of money in January on another skillful attacker?!
Even if the boss is ready to spend serious cash this month, we need a defender and a midfielder FAR MORE than we need another attacker like Isco, so I’d much prefer to see us spend our money on areas that actually need strengthened.
It’s almost as if the Daily Star came up with the story to purposefully wind Arsenal fans up!
That’s not to say I wouldn’t jump for joy if Isco did join the club, but it should be a move for the summer when we may need to replace Cazorla/Rosicky and the transfer fee would need to be halved for me to believe Wenger would be interested.
