Arsenal Team News & Confirmed Line-Up: Big Boost As Key Man Returns
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has taken the unusual step of naming his starting eleven for tomorrow’s game with Galatasaray.
The big news is we’ve been boosted by the return of Mathieu Debuchy with the Frenchman making his first start in well over three months.
Debuchy’s return will see Bellerin move over to left-back while Mertesacker and Chambers will continue their partnership in the middle of defence. Let’s hope they learn from their mistakes against Stoke!
Szczesny returns between the sticks with Martinez dropping out, while Flamini and Ramsey will continue their partnership in midfield. I’d personally like to see Rambo given a rest as we’ve got very few options in midfield with Wilshere and Arteta out, so fingers crossed he doesn’t pick up a knock.
The Ox will move into the middle as Joel Campbell has been handed a rare start in attack along with German international Lukas Podolski.
The duo will support Yaya Sanogo as Arsene has opted to start the young striker up front after he recovered from a calf injury.
It’s a brave decision from the boss to rest so many players as he’s left the likes of Koscielny, Gibbs, Cazorla, Giroud, Sanchez and Welbeck in London.
The bench will therefore be made up of youngster likes Akpom, Zelalem, Kamara, O’Connor, Iwobi and Maitland-Niles – who will all be hoping to get on an impress at some stage.
This is how we’ll line-up tomorrow, as confirmed by Arsene Wenger at his press conference earlier this evening:
That’s still a decent side considering the number of players either rested or our injured. In addition to the six players given a breather, Walcott, Ozil, Wilshere, Arteta, Diaby, Gnabry and Monreal are all injured and it looks like Rosicky is still unavailable with a minor thigh problem as he’s not made the squad either.
It’s unlikely Anderlecht will beat Dortmund but you never know, so let’s hope Arsenal can get a result and pray for a miracle in Germany….
