Arsenal Offer Update On Key Star Amid Reports Of Injury Setback

Arsenal insist Jack Wilshere is on course return from an ankle injury in three months, despite reports in the papers claiming he’s suffered a setback.
Jack was ruled out after having surgery on ankle ligament damage that he sustained during our 2-1 defeat to Man Utd last month following a challenge from Paddy McNair.
Arsenal confirmed on Arsenal.com in late November that the midfielder would be out for around three months, which would take his recovery period towards the end of February.
Some reports in this mornings newspapers claim Jack has suffered a set-back which would see him on the sidelines until March at the earliest, while some suggested he could be facing up to five months out.
However, Arsenal were quick to shoot-down the speculation as our communication’s director, Mark Gonnella, took to Twitter to confirm that Jack has NOT suffered any set-back and was on course to return in 12 weeks.
.@JackWilshere has not had a setback. On schedule for return to squad as per original plan. 12 weeks from injury.

The funny thing is that the papers that claim Jack has suffered a ‘setback’ suggest he’ll return in March – which is roughly when Arsenal initially said he’d be back.
He was always going to be out for three months and when you factor in he’ll need a couple of weeks training before being considered for first team duty, March was always a realistic comeback date. So there’s been no ‘setback’ which ever way you look at it.
The papers that reported five months were probably just jumping on the bandwagon to scaremonger the Arsenal fans. Either way, we’ve now cleared things up and we should be seeing Jack back around late-Feb early-March, which was always going to be the case.
