“My Heart Beats For Arsenal” – German Defender Begs For Gunners Move
German international defender Antonio Rudiger has opened the door to a move to Arsenal after admitting his ‘heart beats’ for the club.
Rudiger has emerged as one of the most highly-rated young centre-backs in the Bundesliga after breaking into the Stuttgart first team 18 months ago.
His impressive form has attracted interest from top club all over Europe with Arsenal and Chelsea reportedly among those chasing his signature ahead of a potential switch in January.
However, unfortunately for Jose Mourinho, while the 20-year-old has admitted he wants to play in the Premier League, he’s revealed that he’s a huge Arsenal fan and would prefer a switch to the Emirates.
Rudiger told reporters:
‘I have always dreamed of the Premier League,’
‘I have been following Arsenal since the days of Henry and Bergkamp. I watch videos of Arsenal all the time on YouTube and I often wear the current Alexis Sanchez shirt.
‘My heart beats for Arsenal.’
Obviously we are in desperate need of another option at centre-back and Rudiger is a real prospect for the future. He’s already earned 4 caps for the senior German side and started in the World Champions Euro 2016 qualifier against Poland earlier this month.
Stuttgart are desperate to hang on to him but reports suggest he could be available for around £7m, which seems a very reasonable price for a player of his quality and potential.
If we are serious about buying him, let’s just try and get a deal done this winter and it’s clear the lad would jump at the chance of playing for us and we don’t want to see another Arsenal ‘fan’ turning out in Chelsea blue.
