Arsenal ‘Preparing Bid’ For £20m Rated World Class Attacker – Report
Arsenal are preparing a formal bid for Marco Reus next summer with reports claiming the attacker has refused to enter contract negotiations with Borussia Dortmund.
Reus was strongly linked with a move to the Emirates during the early stages of the summer window with some reports suggesting we even had a deal in place to sign him before he picked up an injury just before the World Cup.
The 25-year-old ended up staying at Dortmund but speculation over his future intensified after it emerged his buy-out clause will drop to just £20m next summer.
Dortmund are understandably desperate to try and renegotiate the terms of his current deal to remove, or at the very least increase, the buy-out figure but the Express claims Reus has made it clear to the Bundesliga outfit he has no intention of entering contract negotiations any time soon.
It’s believed the German international has become disillusioned at Dortmund’s transfer policy after seeing key players Robert Lewandowski and Mario Gotze leave in recent years and he’s now ready to take advantage of his bargain buy-out clause to secure a move away next summer.
The newspaper suggests that Arsenal have made Reus their top transfer target and are ‘preparing a bid’ for the exciting attacker. However, we’ll have to compete with the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid as all of Europe’s big-guns get ready to battle it out for his signature.
No doubt Reus is going to be the hot-property next summer as £20m is a ridiculously low price for a player of his quality and I’d love to see him come to the Emirates, but it’s going to be extremely difficult given the number of top clubs who are in the running.
