Done Deal! Arsenal Complete First Summer Signing As Young Defender Signs

By on June 6, 2014

According to reports today, Arsenal have made their first signing of the summer with young Greek defender Elias Chatzitheodoridis signing a two-year contract with the club.

The 17-year-old left-back was picked out by our coaching staff after impressing at the Arsenal academy in Greece after training on a part-time basis from local club Mas Kallitheakos.

He was soon offered a trial in north London and played for the youth team in a number of games including a key fixture against Real Madrid.

It seems he’s done enough to convince the clubs coaches that he deserves a full-time place at the Emirates as various reports today are claiming he has now signed a two-year contract with Arsenal.

Unfortunately Chatzitheodoridis is not the big-money signing we are all holding out for as he’ll play in the youth ranks next season, but it’s still important we also focus on improving the youth team and who knows, this lad could be pushing for a first team place in a few years.

Hopefully next time we report on a ‘done deal’ it will be to announce a major signing!
