Wenger: Ramsey Back In Squad To Face Everton, But Gibbs A Doubt
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Aaron Ramsey is back in the squad for this weekends clash with Everton but Kieran Gibbs is a doubt with an ankle injury.
Rambo has been out for over three months after picking up a thigh injury against West Ham on Boxing Day but he returned to full training this week and the boss has confirmed he’ll be in the squad for the trip to Goodison.
Obviously it’s a huge boost to have the Welshman available again and Arsene also expressed his pleasure at having him back in the squad, but I’d be majorly surprised if he started. If he could get 20-30 minutes under his belt then he should be in-line to start against Wigan next week.
However, Gibbs could miss this weekend’s action. The left-back has been playing through the pain with an ankle injury in recent weeks and with Nacho Monreal also returning to the squad from a foot injury, it looks like Arsene might take the opportunity to give Gibbsy a breather.
The only other piece of team news is that Serge Gnabry is also a doubt with a knee problem.
Speaking at his press conference this morning, Arsene said:
