Arsenal preparing formal offer to sign Brahim Diaz in January

By on October 23, 2026

Arsenal are preparing to submit a formal offer to Real Madrid to sign Moroccan international right winger Brahim Diaz, according to Fichajes.

Arsenal are still looking to add more firepower to their attack as they aim to retain the Premier League title and compete for further honours, especially in the UEFA Champions League.

The Gunners explored several high-profile options last summer, but their reported attempts to sign Morgan Rogers and Vinicius Jr ultimately came to nothing.

Christos Tzolis has made a positive impression since arriving from Club Brugge, although matching the 50-plus goal contributions he registered last season may prove challenging given the Premier League’s higher level of competition than the Jupiler Pro League.

Bukayo Saka’s recent injury against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League has also heightened Arsenal’s concerns about their attacking options, with Mikel Arteta admitting the situation ‘doesn’t look good at all’.

Arsenal now appears to be exploring attacking options, as Fichajes reports that the Gunners have made Madrid forward Diaz their primary target for the winter transfer window.

‘Extraordinary’ attacker

The report adds that Mikel Arteta’s side are preparing to submit a formal £50m offer for the 27-year-old’s potential transfer to the Emirates Stadium.

In a boost to the Premier League champions, the Spanish outlet claims that Madrid manager José Mourinho is willing to sanction Diaz’s exit to fund the arrival of a creative midfielder, and Arsenal’s hierarchy are now looking to sign the Moroccan at Arteta’s request.

The manager admires the Spain-born Moroccan international’s ability to play centrally and on the flank, where he could compete with both Eberechi Eze and Christos Tzolis, according to the report.

Although Diaz has found game time difficult this season with just 119 minutes in LaLiga, his qualities have been clear whenever called upon

In two UEFA Champions League games, the right winger, described as ‘extraordinary’ by Carlo Ancelotti, has provided two assists and completed 94.9% of his passes, according to FOTMOB.

He also averages 4.95 created chances, 3.96 line-breaking passes and 9.89 touches in the opposition box in just 91 minutes of playing time in the competition.

With Mourinho open to Diaz’s departure, it’ll be interesting to see whether Arsenal’s proposed £50m offer would be enough to seal the deal.
