Arsenal are set to host LOSC Lille in the Champions League at the Emirates Stadium tonight.

The Gunners entered the long international break, having endured a disappointing 3-0 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion. However, they have returned to winning ways by defeating Leeds United last weekend.

Currently, Arsenal are second in the Premier League table with 15 points from six matches. On the other hand, Mikel Arteta’s side defeated Napoli 1-0 in the opening Champions League fixture last month.

Lille, meanwhile, have enjoyed a promising start this season, sitting second in Ligue 1 with a point less than league leaders AS Monaco. However, they lost the opening Champions League fixture against Real Betis.

Team news

William Saliba and Christos Tzolis remain sidelined due to their respective fitness problems. Moreover, Piero Hincapié and Martin Zubimendi have sustained ankle injuries during warm-down after the game against Leeds. So, they aren’t in contention to feature.

Cristhian Mosquera hasn’t featured since picking up an injury against Aston Villa, but he could be named in the matchday squad tonight.

Predicted line-up

David Raya is likely to continue between the sticks for the Gunners. So, Illan Meslier and Kepa Arrizabalaga would have to make do with a place on the bench.

Ezri Konsa and Gabriel Magalhaes should be the centre-back pairing. Jurrien Timber may start in the right-back position ahead of Ben White tonight, while Myles Lewis-Skelly could be in the left-back position. Therefore, Riccardo Calafiori might feature as a substitute if needed.

Declan Rice is expected to be the defensive midfielder, and Bruno Guimaraes could commence alongside the Englishman in the engine room after putting his name on the scoresheet last time out.

Martin Odegaard should keep hold of his place in the CAM role for the North London club. Therefore, Mikel Merino could feature as a substitute.

Noni Madueke started on the left flank last weekend, but Eberechi Eze may get the nod to commence in this position tonight, while Bukayo Saka could be on the opposite side.

Viktor Gyokeres is likely to be leading the line for the hosts. In that case, Max Dowman and Kai Havertz might feature as substitutes.
