Arsenal battling with Euro giants to sign Kenan Yildiz
Arsenal are reportedly battling with European giants over a deal to sign Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz, as per Italian outlet Tutto Juve.
Although the Gunners won the Premier League title last term, they struggled to score goals from open play. Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard even displayed inconsistent performances.
As a result, Mikel Arteta decided to part ways with the duo and seemingly wanted to buy two new left-wingers this summer. Arsenal signed Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge but failed to buy a second left-winger.
Elite forwards like Vinicius Junior and Bradley Barcola were linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium. However, the Brazilian opted to stay at Real Madrid by extending his current contract, while the Frenchman joined Liverpool.
Therefore, Arsenal are short on options on the left flank, and the Spanish boss has used Eberechi Eze in this area to support Tzolis this season. But the Greek international has sustained a hamstring problem recently.
So, it appears the Emirates club are planning to reinforce the frontline. Tutto Juve report that Arsenal are interested in Yildiz and could make a move to sign him next year.
Arteta’s side hold a long-standing interest in the Turkish international as they initially wanted to buy him this summer, but Juventus refused to let him leave.
Yildiz to Arsenal
With his existing deal set to run until 2030, the Bianconeri remain keen on keeping hold of him. But if they fail to secure Champions League qualification once again, they might cash-in on him for a fee of more than £85m[€100m] next summer.
The report state that Arsenal aren’t the only club interested in the Juventus forward, as Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are also in this race.
Yildiz is a right-footed left-winger by trait but is also comfortable centrally. He is quick, technically sound, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas, and has an eye for scoring goals from distance.
The 21-year-old is a highly talented player and possesses the potential to reach the top. Therefore, he would be a great coup for Arsenal should they purchase him.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually make a concrete approach to secure his services.
