Arsenal showing interest in signing PSG’s Bradley Barcola
Arsenal are reportedly showing an interest in signing Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola, as per Caught Offside.
After letting Leandro Trossard join Besiktas, the Gunners have decided to reinforce the left flank by purchasing Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge this summer.
The 22-year-old has enjoyed a bright start at the Emirates Stadium. After making three goal contributions in four pre-season matches, he helped his side thrash Manchester City 3-0 by registering two assists in the Community Shield.
Moreover, he showcased his qualities in Arsenal’s opening Premier League game of this season against Coventry City, guiding his team to a 3-0 victory.
Apart from Tzolis, Arsenal currently have Gabriel Martinelli as an option to deploy on the left flank. However, he has entered the final year of his current contract and has been heavily linked with a move away.
So, Caught Offside state that Arsenal want a new left winger and are showing an interest in Barcola, having failed to buy Vinicius Junior. However, PSG don’t want to let him leave for cheap, with his existing deal set to run until 2028.
Les Parisiens want up to £145m, with £130m upfront, to sell Barcola. However, Arsenal don’t want to make the PSG star their record transfer, although they were prepared to break the bank to sign Vinicius Jr.
Barcola to Arsenal
The report state that Liverpool are also interested in Barcola but have struggled to reach an agreement with PSG, although the player is ready to move to Anfield. They don’t want to spend more than £120m, and PSG don’t want to lower their valuation.
On the other hand, if Arsenal make a concrete approach, he would be ready to move to the Emirates Stadium as he might be tempted by the prospect of living in London.
CO claim that apart from Barcola, Arsenal are also interested in Atlético Madrid forward Julian Alvarez and Juventus star Kenan Yildiz to bolster the attack late in this window.
Barcola is a right-footed left winger and has proven his worth for club and country in recent years. So, he might be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal should they eventually manage to secure his services before next week’s transfer deadline.
