Arsenal submit formal offer to sign Leicester’s exciting midfielder Louis Page

Arsenal have submitted a formal offer to sign highly rated Leicester City midfielder Louis Page this summer, according to Pete O’Rourke.

Page has been part of Leicester City’s setup since joining the academy at the under-nine level, steadily progressing through the youth ranks before making his senior debut against Huddersfield Town in the Carabao Cup in August 2025.

The 18-year-old has wasted little time establishing himself around the first team, already making 22 senior appearances for the Foxes last season, where he recorded an 82.4% passing success rate. Five of those outings came as starts in the Championship during a campaign that ultimately ended with Leicester’s relegation.

Despite Leicester’s woeful campaign, his impressive breakthrough season was recognised with the EFL Apprentice of the Year award, joining the likes of Real Madrid and England star Jude Bellingham to win the award.

Page’s latest appearance came from the bench, entering in the 79th minute during Leicester’s League Cup triumph over Northampton Town on Saturday, where he showed a composed display.

His performances have not gone unnoticed, with O’Rourke reporting that Arsenal have submitted a formal offer to sign Page from Leicester this summer.

The 18-year-old has been heavily tipped to be a key part of the first team next season under Russell Martin, but a departure now appears to be on the cards, with Arsenal now sending a bid to sign him.

However, the Gunners face stern competition as the journalist adds that Manchester United have also submitted a bid for the 6ft 1in midfielder, who is now leaning towards a move to Old Trafford.

Page was part of Russell Martin’s pre-season squad and notably scored for Leicester in their 3-3 draw with Malaga, highlighting the level of his quality in senior football.

His qualities are well detailed by United in Focus’ Leicester City expert Callum Boyle, who describes the exciting midfielder as a ‘very gifted’ player.

He said, ‘Technically speaking, he is very gifted and operates best as a no. 8 or in the no. 10 role. He needs to be more physical and perhaps bulk up a little bit, but I would say he offered more than Jeremy Monga, who obviously went to Man City for £13m.’

With the player leaning towards joining United, it will be interesting to see whether Arsenal are willing to offer additional incentives to secure his signature, much like Manchester City did when they trumped them to sign Jeremy Monga from Leicester.
