Arsenal now in talks to sign highly rated Georgian starlet Andria Bartishvili
Arsenal are in talks over a deal to sign highly rated Georgian attacking midfielder Andria Bartishvili this summer, according to TEAMtalk.
Dubbed the ‘next Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’, Bartishvili is quickly establishing himself as one of Georgia’s most exciting young talents. The teenage prospect spent his early development years in his homeland, beginning his youth career at Dinamo Tbilisi.
He made his senior debut in April 2025, becoming the youngest player in the Erovnuli Liga that season at just 16 years and two days, featuring in Kolkheti’s clash against Samgurali.
The attacking midfielder is still plying his trade in Georgia and concluded the most recent campaign on loan at Iberia 1999, where he made 11 appearances in the Georgian top flight and scored once.
Although the 17-year-old has not been a consistent starter for Iberia 1999 since his January arrival, he has still made an impact this season, and it’s no surprise. Georgia national team head coach Willy Sagnol describes him as ‘very talented’.
Bartishvili has accumulated close to 1,000 minutes across 15 league matches, contributing two goals and two assists, and his rapid progress has attracted interest from several high-profile clubs.
One of the clubs looking to sign the youngster is Arsenal, according to TEAMtalk, which claims that the north London club are in talks to sign the Georgian forward this summer.
‘Next Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’
Arsenal’s sporting director Andrea Berta is pushing a youth-driven recruitment drive at the Emirates, and, with talks over a deal to sign Jeremy Monga from Leicester City advancing, the club have now added Bartishvili to their list of young targets.
Arsenal have continued to place equal importance on strengthening their senior squad while also stepping up recruitment of highly rated young prospects, with several promising talents already added to their academy.
In the last two transfer windows, the North London club secured the signings of Colombian twins Edwin Quintero and Holger Quintero while also bolstering their youth ranks with arrivals such as Jaden Dixon and Evan Mooney.
Last season, Mikel Arteta also maintained his commitment to promoting Hale End graduates, handing first-team debuts to several standout youngsters, including Max Dowman, Marli Solomon, Andre Harriman Annous, Ife Ibrahim, Brando Bailey-Joseph and Marli Salmon.
As Arsenal continue their long-term squad rebuild, Bartishvili would be viewed as another significant addition to a growing pool of exciting young talents, all of whom could develop into first-team players in future.
