Arsenal make approach to sign Bournemouth’s Alex Scott

By on June 17, 2026

Arsenal have reportedly made an approach to sign AFC Bournemouth star Alex Scott, as per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

After spending time with Southampton and the Cherries’ youth team, the midfielder joined Isthmian League side Guernsey at the age of 16. He signed for Bristol City back in 2019, and after being impressed by his performances in the Championship, Bournemouth decided to bring him back in 2023.

Upon moving to Vitality Stadium, the 22-year-old initially took time to settle into his new surroundings before showcasing his qualities in the Premier League last campaign.

In 39 appearances across all competitions, he made five goal contributions. Moreover, he helped his side qualify for next season’s Europa League.

Now, on his YouTube channel, Romano states that after being impressed by the youngster’s recent eye-catching performances, Arsenal have registered their interest in signing him and have already made contact with the player’s representatives over this deal.

However, Bournemouth have no intention of parting ways with Scott. His existing deal is set to run until 2028, and Marco Rose’s side are keen on handing him a fresh term, including a release clause.

They want to keep hold of him for one more year at least. However, if they are forced to cash-in, they might be open to accepting around £60m this summer.

Scott to Arsenal

Scott is a technically gifted player and likes to be deployed in a double midfield pivot role. He is quick, strong, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas, and is efficient in playing through passes between the lines.

Moreover, the Bournemouth star has an eye for scoring goals from distance and is also efficient in defensive contributions. He is a highly talented player and showed glimpses of his qualities in the Premier League last term.

Following Christian Norgaard’s struggles to break into Mikel Arteta’s starting line-up last term, Arsenal could do with signing a new midfielder to replace the Dane.

Scott could be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal should they purchase him. However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually opt to secure his service in this summer transfer window.
