Arsenal make contact to sign Kenan Yildiz

Arsenal have reportedly made contact to sign Juventus star Kenan Yildiz, as per Italian outlet Tutto Sport.

The 21-year-old started his youth career at Sallern Regensburg before spending a very brief spell with Jahn Regensburg. He joined Bayern Munich’s youth system at the age of seven before spending a decade there.

However, after failing to agree on a new deal with the Bavarian club, the youngster decided to leave as a free agent in 2022. Barcelona and Juventus went head-to-head to secure his services, but the Bianconeri eventually won the race.

Yildiz initially played for Juventus Next Gen before making his first-team debut in 2023. At first, he featured as a rotational option before establishing himself as a key starter in recent campaigns.

The Juventus star showed glimpses of his qualities during the 2024/25 campaign, scoring 12 goals and registering seven assists across all competitions.

However, he took his game to another level last term, although Juventus displayed inconsistent performances. In 47 appearances in all tournaments, the youngster scored 11 goals and registered nine assists.

Having proven his worth at Allianz Stadium, Yildiz has established himself as an integral part of the Turkish national team’s starting line-up and is likely to play a key role for his country in this World Cup.

Yildiz to Arsenal

Now, Tutto Sport state that after being impressed by Yildiz’s recent eye-catching performances, Arsenal have expressed their interest in signing him in this summer transfer window.

They have already made contact with Juventus to learn about the details of finalising the operation. However, the Italian giants have made it clear that they have no intention of parting ways with him.

The Old Lady of Turin won’t sell him even if Arsenal launch a formal proposal worth around €100m[£86m], with his existing deal set to run until 2030.

Yildiz is a left-winger by trait but is also comfortable providing cover in the creative midfield position. He is a top-class player and possesses the potential to become one of the best forwards in the world.

Therefore, he would have been a great coup for Arsenal had they managed to secure his service during this offseason.
