Arsenal are reportedly planning to make an ambitious swoop to sign Newcastle United star Lewis Hall, as per TEAMtalk.

The 21-year-old initially moved to St James’ Park from Chelsea on a loan deal in 2023 before the move became permanent the following year. He played as a rotational option in his debut campaign before establishing himself as a key starter.

This season, the youngster has displayed promising performances, making three goal contributions and keeping four clean sheets in 47 appearances across all competitions.

Having displayed eye-catching performances for Newcastle, Hall has secured his place in Thomas Tuchel’s England national team.

Now, TEAMtalk claim that Arsenal hold a long-standing interest in Hall and have continued to monitor his progress closely before making a potential swoop this summer.

However, Arsenal will have to overcome stiff competition to seal the deal as Manchester United and Liverpool are also in this race after being impressed by his performances.

Chelsea are even interested in bringing him back, while Bayern Munich are plotting a swoop as well. Man Utd’s director of football, Jason Wilcox, is a big admirer of Hall and is keen on sealing the deal by defeating other clubs in this race.

Hall to Arsenal

The Englishman’s existing deal is set to run until 2029, and the Magpies have no intention of letting him leave. However, Hall is open to leaving if the right opportunity emerges. If Newcastle are forced to cash-in, they want around £55m.

Mikel Arteta has used Riccardo Calafiori and Piero Hincapié in the left-back position this season. Although the Ecuadorian joined on loan from Bayer Leverkusen last summer, Arsenal are likely to make the move permanent.

Moreover, Myles Lewis-Skelly can provide cover in this position if needed. So, Arsenal are currently well stocked in the left-back position and don’t need to add further depth to this position.

However, Hall is a top-class player and possesses the potential to become one of the best left-backs in the world. So, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually make a concrete approach to secure his services in the upcoming transfer window.
